St. Patrick’s Day

Lucky Charms Edible Charm Bracelets

Edible Charm Bracelet with Lucky Charms

Lucky Charms are magically delicious and magically cute! I love this tasty cereal. I decided to use it for a fun little craft too. My daughter and I made little Lucky Charms edible charm bracelets. She loved it. You can eat and craft at the same time. She loves crafts and lately she loves jewelry. In the morning when she gets ready she says it takes a while to get her style. She has to figure out what bracelets and necklaces work with her style for the day. It’s cute that she has a better style than I do. I rarely accessorize, most days it’s yoga pants for me and not a lot of jewelry goes with yoga pants. I do love the girly things and jewelry too. Every once in a while it is nice to take off the mom uniform(yoga pants), get dressed up, and add some jewelry. In the mean time I will settle for edible bracelet crafting! read more

Rainbow Pot of Gold Candy

Rainbow Pot Of Gold Candy

I love how many holidays there are around this time of year. However, some holidays like St. Patrick’s Day I just don’t have the time to go all out for. I at least have to do a little something. I have a few decorations like my rainbow balloons  http://valeventgal.com/2016/02/diy-mini-balloon-rainbow/ and last year we had a party for a leprechaun that was adorable  http://valeventgal.com/2016/02/diy-mini-balloon-rainbow/. My daughter really loved that! I don’t think most people do a ton for St. Patrick’s Day since it is so close to Easter. These rainbow pot of gold candy are the perfect easy, half assed but still adorable dessert. Yes, I said it somethings you have to half ass as a mom and human. I’m a half ass Martha Stewart, I love yummy, crafty, cute stuff but things are not going to be perfect and I usually look like a mess while making things. For this you don’t have to bake anything, you just put a couple candies together with frosting and sprinkles. There you go you have a festive treat! I’m serious when I say these are easy to make. You can have them for a party or just for fun. Plus they are tiny so if you are trying to trap some leprechauns they would definitely be enticed by this rainbow pot of gold candy ;). read more

You can also make a bunch of little rainbows to hand all over a party. The best thing about this diy mini balloon rainbow is that you don’t need helium for the balloons you can blow them up, put them together and tada! This is such a cheap and easy party diy. One package of small balloons can go a long way! You can also make larger balloon arches with the same technique just add more balloons. I personally like the idea of a bunch of little rainbows all around and hanging above a dessert table :). read more

Rainbow Donuts with Marshmallow Clouds

Rainbow Donuts with marshmallow clouds! These are the cutest rainbow donuts

Life can’t always be rainbows and unicorns but sometimes it can. If you have adorable rainbow donuts with marshmallow clouds it can! Also unicorn cupcakes like these cuties http://valeventgal.com/2015/09/unicorn-cupcakes/. I like to bring as much rainbows and unicorns into my life as possible. Adulting is hard and so is being a parent. Sometimes you have to make your own rainbows and I prefer everything in donut form ;). They are also sleepy like I am most the time. Rainbows and adults deserve naps. These little donuts would be perfect for birthday parties, St. Patrick’s Day, or slumber parties. read more

Party for a Leprechaun

IMG_30331

To get my daughter Keira excited for St. Patrick’s Day we had to do something with leprechauns. I have seen a lot of really cute leprechaun traps but I wanted to do something a little bit different. Sticking with what we do best I decided to throw a party for a little leprechaun. I figured you don’t need a trap if you throw a party because leprechauns do not miss a party, true story. Also, any excuse to make teeny tiny party decorations I will take. Keira helped to make the little decorations. She seriously is the best helper, I am lucky that she has the patience for my crazy projects. I also drew a picture of a leprechaun, our guest of honor and named him Lucky. read more

Drink Me I’m Irish Drink

1

I have been getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day this week. I wanted to try out making an Irish drink to really get in the mood for St. Patrick’s Day. As a mom it is good to make something for yourself once in a while. Mommy needs a break sometimes and to relax at night with a little mom juice, am I right?! When I was in college for St. Paddy’s we would go to an Irish bar that was jam packed and I would have to get the green beer to have my Irish drink. Usually it was some watered down beer and by the end of the night someone had spilled green beer on me. Okay it was probably me doing the spilling, I’m clumsy like that ;). I am happy to be past the point of going out to crowded places on St. Patrick’s Day. read more
