Fruit Ice Cream Cones for Summer

Fruit Ice Cream Cones

Summer is the perfect time for fruit and for ice cream. Well this doesn’t include a lot of actually fruit more like ice cream that looks like fruit. Does fruit flavor ice cream count as fruit? I’d say it does! I made cute little fruit ice cream cones that look like watermelons and pineapples. Two of my favorite cute fruits! Confession I didn’t have a ton of ice cream because everyone in my family ate the ice cream before I could use it. Don’t they know prop ice cream when they see it! They didn’t turn out as full as I would like because of the lack of ice cream but you get the idea. read more

Tropical Drink Koozies DIY

Continuing on with my brightening up winter week! Lets make winter bright with some diy tropical drink koozies. You can use these for year round but they are fun to use for winter to make sure your hands don’t freeze while enjoying a cool beverage. As a kid I loved all things tropical and beachy. I had a tropical themed Bat Mitzvah party. My parents were also known for doing luau styled parties. That is why I am loving all the tropical vibes parties. Flamingos and pineapples are some of my favorites. They are also right on trend. You can make these for everyday use, gifts and parties. Plus, these were super easy to make with the Spellbinders Platinum 6 and these tropical die collection. I’m going to decorate my desk all tropical with these dies. Flamingo pens are a must! read more

Under the Sea Fruit

Under the Sea Fruit

I’m always trying to make fruits and vegetables more enticing for my daughter. She likes fruit, vegetables she wont do unless there is ranch involved. I’ve found she likes fruit better when I make it into something cute. I also like to use candy eyes whenever I can. Everything is cuter with candy eyes. You don’t have to put candy eyes on all of the fruit like I did(I know it’s a bit much) but a few of them Is cute! I thought for summer under the sea fruit would be cute for fun and parties. read more

Pineapple Centerpieces

A while ago I saw a centerpiece with flowers in a pineapple. Since then I have wanted to try that out. It is trouble when I am having people over and I see pineapples on sale. I bought like five pineapples! I didn’t use fancy flowers just some flowers I thought looked pretty from the grocery store. At first I was going to do painted pineapples with flowers in them. I still think that would be fun with bright color combinations, maybe next time ;). Instead I did painted pineapples and pineapples with flowers in them separately for variety. read more

Sticking with my pineapple obsession/theme I have an easy pineapple pinata. This pineapple pinata is a pull string made with a paper lantern and tissue paper! You could also use the paper lanterns for decoration if you don’t want to have a pinata. I’m all for the pinatas! Yes, sometimes I like to really hit a pinata but I also like to pull a string and have candy fall from the sky :). Living the dream, most of my dreams involve candy. I have attempted to make a pinata before but it was a bit too complicated for me. This is easy breezy and looks really cute! read more

Pineapple cupcakes! By now if you follow my blog you will know I have a slight obsession with cupcakes! Yes, it is a bit of a problem but they are just so cute and yummy at the same time. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? I have not mastered other desserts but cupcakes are just my favorite! I am also obsessed with pineapples they are just so fun and I love the pineapple decorations trend! I decided to make these cute cupcakes that look like pineapples. I also tried to make pineapple frosting but that failed. Instead I made a buttercream frosting with a hint of coconut. Buttercream is the best for piping. These are perfect for a pineapple party, a luau and summer celebrations! read more

Pineapple Coconut Yum!

pineapple drink, drink in a pineapple, pineapple coconut drink, pineapple drink

Pineapple coconut yum! This drink is so yum I decided that’s what it has to be called. It is like a vacation in a glass or in this case in a pineapple! Why drink from a regular cup when you can drink from a pineapple?!

The past couple of weeks have been unbearable hot in Arizona. We had a week or so with tempatures all over 110, yuck! I just want to bathe in a tub of ice all day and drink frozen drinks. Luckily I will be getting out of the heat for a little bit soon. It is basically mandatory to go on vacation in the summer when you live in Arizona. To make things a little bit more tolerable I have been making lots of frozen drinks and swimming almost every day. I have also been on a huge pineapple kick I love to eat them, look at them, and decorate with them! When I have a nice pineapple drink I can imagine(or hallucinate from the heat) that I am on a beach drinking out of a pineapple. I had a whole weekend without my daughter, which is a rare occasion as a single mom. I decided to make it like a little staycation pool, pineapple drinks and a mani/pedi. I missed my daughter but it was amazing to just relax! This pineapple drink I made was delicious, definitely super fruity and girly because if I’m going to go fruity I go all out! You can make it with or without alcohol, I went with it because I was on “vacation”. I drank it out of a pineapple but I didn’t want to go through the effort of scooping out the middle of the pineapple so I cut off the top and bottom and put a cup in it. Just bring the cup you are going to use when picking out pineapples to get the size right. read more
