Caramel Apple S’mores

I’m getting full swing into the fall flavors! This year I am totally feeling the caramel apple everything. I’m not a huge pumpkin spice fan, although I do like pumpkin bread on occasion. I also wasn’t wanting to make anything too complicated that is why this week on the blog I am sharing a bunch of easy no bake caramel apple treats. Starting with these awesome caramel apple s’mores. I used freeze dried apples but you can use fresh apple slices as well. I used caramels but caramel sauce would also taste amazing and you can add chocolate too. I also added a bit of cinnamon sugar and these hit the spot for that fall caramel apple craving. Serve them for a party or just make them for fun because you don’t need a reason to make caramel apple s’mores. When I was pregnant I craved s’mores and ate mountains of s’mores. You know what, I do not regret that for a second because they were so tasty and easy for me to make. read more

Caramel Apple Popcorn

I am ready for a movie night with a fall twist. Doesn’t getting all snuggled up in a fleece blanket and watching movie while enjoy fall treats sound the best? I love popcorn in any form including caramel corn and kettle corn. I made my own spin on this treat with caramel apple popcorn. It is so tasty and really perfect for a fall snack to bring with somewhere or to make at home with family. There are a few ways you can make this to put your own spin on it. You can add chocolate to it. I add a little cinnamon sugar to make it a bit more sweet. The caramel and apple tastes compliment each other nicely. read more

Mickey and Minnie Cinnamon Rolls

For any Disney lover this breakfast is the easiest and cutest Disney inspired treat. I made cinnamon rolls in the shape of a Mickey or Minnie. Add a bow to the top or bottom to make it into a character. I just used store bought cinnamon rolls and these were done in minutes. Make these easy Mickey and Minnie cinnamon rolls for kids before a trip to Disney or as a birthday treat! My daughter loved them and also I did too. Treats are not only for kids!

  1. Unroll cinnamon rolls.
  2. Put one cinnamon roll on a foil lined baking sheet. Rip another one in half then round one side. Attach it to the big cinnamon roll. Put one half on the top left and one on the top right.
  3. Bake according to package and let cool off.
  4. Cover with icing and sprinkles if desired.
  5. I added a bow on a toothpick. You can also add strawberries to look like a bow on top or bottom.

Easy as that! It is a perfect breakfast to make when you are going on a trip to Disney Land or World! read more

Moana Desserts

My daughter had a Moana party and I wanted to make her some fun Moana desserts for the party. I always make all the desserts myself. Although I’m not a pastry chef I’ve discovered that anyone can make some cute desserts that kids will love. The kids were the most impressed with the Hei Hei and Pua cupcakes and they gobbled up the Tomatoa Shiny cake balls. The adults were more impressed with the cake. These ideas are all simple and there is something for everyone.

For the shiny cake balls. I made cake balls like I would when starting cake pops, just flat at the bottom. You could also use donut holes for the balls. Line them on a baking sheet with parchment paper slightly spread out. Then melt dark blue or purple candy melts. Pour it over the balls with a spoon. I made these a bit messy they were honestly a last minute idea that my daughter had so we made them together. She’s so creative and she loves that character so we had to make something shiny! Before the candy melts dry sprinkle gold sprinkles on top. That’s all you have to do for shiny cake balls! read more

Fruit Ice Cream Cones for Summer

Fruit Ice Cream Cones

Summer is the perfect time for fruit and for ice cream. Well this doesn’t include a lot of actually fruit more like ice cream that looks like fruit. Does fruit flavor ice cream count as fruit? I’d say it does! I made cute little fruit ice cream cones that look like watermelons and pineapples. Two of my favorite cute fruits! Confession I didn’t have a ton of ice cream because everyone in my family ate the ice cream before I could use it. Don’t they know prop ice cream when they see it! They didn’t turn out as full as I would like because of the lack of ice cream but you get the idea. read more

My birthday is in the middle of summer. As a kid the middle of summer in Phoenix is about 115 degrees. That meant for my birthday parties we always had pool parties. It also meant lots of ice cream. I think because of that my favorite cake has always been ice cream cake. I was never a big cake eater. For some reason I didn’t love cake. As an adult my tastes have expanded and now bring on the cake! Even though I didn’t love cake if you put some ice cream on cake I loved it. My daughter also is obsessed with ice cream! She is so funny she still is putting Christmas sprinkles on her ice cream because I bought an excessive amount of them. She will be celebrating Christmas in July with her Christmas sprinkles. I don’t make cakes very often but I love making cupcakes. That is why I made these fun ice cream cake cupcakes. They have all of the fun elements of an ice cream cake in a cupcake size. read more

Modelo and Corona with Taco Cookies.jpg

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays. I grew up in Phoenix and we always have a big celebration for Cinco de Mayo. It is the perfect time of year to be outside by the pool. We have a pool party celebration with lots of food, of course beer, family, and friends. I love Mexican beer! Corona Extra was the first beer I ever tried and I immediately loved the clean, crisp taste. I also love the rich, refreshing flavor of Modelo Especial. It is a family favorite. For our Cinco de Mayo celebration everyone brings Mexican dishes to indulge in. Usually I am in charge of desserts. I am an expert at eating Mexican dishes but not at making them. Desserts are my favorite to make for all occasions. I love desserts that look like savory foods and that is why I thought it would be the perfect time to make cookies that look like little tacos. In the past I have made cupcakes that look like hot dogs and cookies that look like pizza. Now it’s time to tackle taco cookies! They add some extra fun to the dessert table! These have all the elements of a real taco in sweet dessert form. They also pair very well with Modelo Especial and Corona Extra. The flavors of these beers taste amazing with a little sweet bite. I don’t know about you but I need a little sweetness to balance out all of the spice from a Cinco de Mayo meal. My dad makes his specialty spicy shrimp that come with a warning label because of the heat level. Not everyone can handle the heat. I usually can have one before my mouth is on fire! read more
