Simple wreath made with bows

Simple Bow Christmas Wreath

Gold Bow Wreath

Since it is November that means time to get ready for Christmas! Does everyone get ready in November or is it just me? Thanksgiving is fun but lets get real the decorations can’t compare to Christmas! Put on some Christmas music and start the Christmas decorating projects. This Christmas bow wreath is incredibly easy to make and looks really pretty. You can make it with any color of bows. Traditional red, green, or gold like I did. This wreath is on the small side, but you can make it even bigger and fuller. This one is just one row of bows. If you get a large bag of bows you can make two rows for a large wreath. The large bag of bows was $5 and I used a cake plate that I had for the base. Such an easy do it yourself project for Christmas. This would be a fun easy project to make with a group of friends. read more

DIY Santa Gift Bags

Santa kisses gift bag

Santa’s coming, Santa’s coming, I know him! I still love Santa and the magic that comes with Santa around Christmas. My daughter believes still and I will keep that going as long as I can. Santa brings presents so why not bring presents to others dressed up as Santa or bring some Santa “kisses”. This DIY Santa gift bags are perfect for school class gifts, gifts to friends or Christmas parties. You can get creative with what you put inside these cute gift bags! It doesn’t just have to be candy, although Hershey Kisses work well for the Santa kisses. I made easy Santa belts to go on the bags. You can use both the gift tag and Santa. You could also pick one or the other depending on your preference. read more

Santa Hat Snowball Christmas Game

Santa Hat Christmas Game

Santa Hat Snowball Christmas Game

I know it is not quite Christmas yet…OK it’s not even Halloween but the craft stores have all of the Christmas fun out! I spend too much time in craft stores and have been brainwashed into getting ready for Christmas crazy early. I can’ help it though, I love Christmas! I saw some Santa hats and I thought they would be fun for a game, then I thought of this catch the snowballs in Santa hats Christmas game. It is really fun but be warned your kids will want to play it over and over again! Since we don’t get real snow this close enough for us. It is also a fun game to play inside when there is too much real snow and it is too cold to play outside. read more

Cute Winter Party Desserts

Cute Winter Party Desserts

I am still loving marshmallow pops for parties and these cute winter party desserts and marshmallow pops are perfect for this time of year! I’ve seen a lot of the melted snowman cookies but if you are short on time marshmallows are a yummy, easy alternative to cookies. You melt some chocolate melts dip marshmallows, add a few decorations and viola you are ready for a party! I made the snowmen and penguins for the marshmallow pops. I’ve done the penguins before as cake pops. These penguins are adorable! You can do black and white to make them more penguiny ;). I had extra blue candy melts so I am continuing with my blue penguins(I made blue penguin donuts that were super adorable). I also made easy white reindeer cupcakes. I know reindeer aren’t white but they look really cute and modern this way. It goes with the snowy look. read more

Ugly Sweater Koozies

Ugly Sweater Koozies, dress up your dirinks at a holiday party with ugly sweater koozies!

I’m definitely a fan of the ugly sweater craze and these ugly sweater koozies are perfect for an ugly sweater party. A lot of them I don’t even think are ugly just very festive and fun. About 5 years ago I could not find ugly sweaters anywhere for a party and had to make my own. I can’t sew at all so I think I glued some Christmas patches on a plain red sweater, gluing I can do. Now ugly sweaters are everywhere and a ton of people are having ugly sweater parties! I love that because adults need to dress silly and have fun more often. I made these little ugly sweater koozies with felt. Okay they are more just decorative sweaters but if you add some pants or felt around the bottom of the bottle they are koozies. Sometimes beer gets cold and needs a little sweater. You can also use the same template to make an ugly sweater garland using felt or Christmas color card stock paper! read more

Donut Reindeer

Donut Reindeer

Aren’t these donut reindeer so cute? They are a really fun breakfast for Christmas morning or dessert for holiday parties. Really easy to make. I made homemade donuts but you can also use store bought. I had to make something that looked like a reindeer because I have been seeing so many cute reindeer foods. Since I have been on a donut kick lately for me donuts was an obvious choice. I used to only have eyes for cupcakes but donuts have completely changed that. Okay, maybe I just have a major sweet too ;). read more

Honeycomb Wreath

Honeycomb Wreath with mini ornaments. This wreath is incredible easy to make and has a beautiful modern look. -Val Event Gal

I have been wanting to make a wreath for a while and I am really excited about this honeycomb wreath! I am just blown away by some of the wreaths I have seen from fellow bloggers. Some are super fancy and intricate. I love what I have been seeing and I had planned on really making something fancy. Then life happened and I didn’t have the time to dedicate to the fancy wreath in my mind. Don’t you just wish you could think something up and then it could magically appear? Someone needs to invent a machine that does that. Sounds simple enough ;). Anyways I didn’t have the time but still wanted to make my own wreath. I was browsing in the party section at Target as I tend to do because they have amazing things! Oh Target, what would I do without you. I came across this pink honeycomb and thought it would be cool for a wreath. I know pink doesn’t scream Christmas for some people but I also wanted to make something that I might be able to get away with keeping up past Christmas. Pink really is a year round thing! Since we are doing more of a modern Christmas with gold, pink, black and some bright colors this definitely fits in. You can use other colors as well red, green, blue, magenta or whatever tickles your fancy. Now lets get to business and make this honeycomb wreath! read more
