Summer Party!

I hope everyone is enjoy your summer so far. We basically live in the pool at this point since it is usually 110 degrees. It is hard with kids in the summer in Arizona. They just want to be outside all the time and we usually cant go out for more than 10 minutes unless there is water involved. We have to get creative with things to do and activities. Since it dropped below 110 this week we had to take advantage of the cool weather :). We had a few people over to swim. I put together some easy decorations and food.

I used some of our little inner tubes for decorations. They really don’t float very well so I’m glad I got some use out of them. I made little blue Hawaiian Punch drinks with inner tube candy around the straws.

I made hot dog cupcakes, yup that’s right hot dog cupcakes. I know they are silly but the kids loved them! They were super easy to make I just cut out the middle top part of the cupcake, Red frosting with a tint of black for the hot dog part plus yellow and red frosting on top. If I made these again I would probably add some little candies on top for relish or onions. I also had fruits and veggies but for some reason I didn’t get any pictures of those.

This little flip flop banner was fun and easy to make. I used foam craft paper that we have for crafts. I traced Keira’s shoes on the paper then cut out the shapes. The straps were cut out half inch strips of sparkly foam craft paper. Then glued on with a hot glue gun, the bottom part I just stapled in back since I was running out of time but I would use glue next time.

Frozen water balloons in an inner tube served as a cooler. You can also put the water balloons in an actual cooler to add a little something extra. Just make sure to have some water balloons for throwing as well!

 

Beach ball cake pops and a candy fish bowl! The fish bowl is so easy and super cute. So much summer fun!
