I love Thanksgiving. All the family, all the food, how can you go wrong?! Kids don’t always have the patience to sit through a long meal. Sometimes they need a little extra entertainment and activities. These little Thanksgiving turkey activity bags are a fun and easy activity to entertain the kids. You can also use play doh or pom pom balls to build a turkey. I used what I had which was paper and they turned out so cute! These are also a fun nonfood Thanksgiving thing to give out to friends. Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with all of your crazy family. That is why I made these funny free Thanksgiving printable wine labels and food tents. I think all families are a little crazy in their own special way. I say that as a term of endearment! I made some wine labels to bring to your crazy family because Thanksgiving is a time to drink wine with the family that makes you drink. I also made some fun food labels. It seems like everyone is into some food trend of eating gluten free, low fat, and tofurkey(I just like to say tofurkey). Thanksgiving is a time to put those eating habits aside. Eat all the fat, gluten, sugar and turkey that your heart desires. It is also a time to eat mom, grandma, dad, or grandpa’s famous food that you have been waiting all year to eat. DIY Turkey Photo Prop

Sometimes I think Thanksgiving could use a little more fun! I find eating massive amounts of food fun but kids need more. My daughter and I made these fun diy turkey photo props and they were a huge hit with her! She thought it was so funny, especially when I was a turkey. Of course I made turkey sounds to add to the fun. This is an easy prop to make with kids to get them into the Thanksgiving spirit. I know Thanksgiving is not right around the corner but it is never too early to get ready for holidays! It could be because I spend too much time in craft stores and I’ve been seeing holiday stuff since July ;). Ps. Feed the Turkey Thanksgiving Game

Thanksgiving isn’t always the most fun holiday for kids. Yes, you have family and food but kids need more excitement. Plus, at least my daughter isn’t a big fan of Thanksgiving food. I don’t blame her, I was a really picky eater as a kid and would mostly eat stuffing and pie. Ok maybe I still do that but I just gravitate towards the carbs and sugar. At least on Thanksgiving there are no rules when it comes to eating, just pile it on, no shame! This easy feed the turkey Thanksgiving game is great simple entertainment. Kids can play this indoors while adults are still dilly dallying with their meal. You can also bring it outside where it’s nice out. Adults and kids can play this game. I used candy to toss in the Turkeys mouth but you can use small balls or bean bags sort of like corn hole. read more

Dollar Store Fall Pumpkin Centerpiece

It is looking like fall y’all! Ok not outside but inside my place I am getting ready for fall. Who else is ready for fall?! I made these simple dollar store pumpkin centerpieces to celebrate the season. The bottom pumpkins were ugly as is and needed a bit of painting. I was really impressed with their selection of fake flowers. You could paint the pumpkin any color you want and use any color flowers. It just depends on your color preference. I like the idea of bright color pumpkins with white flower. This time around I decided to go with more fall type colors which is very unlike me. I tend to steer away from traditional but I’m happy I went with orange and copper! Love the shiny color on the pumpkin. The only thing I didn’t get from the dollar store is paint. Walmart, Target or Michael’s have a ton of paint colors for reasonable prices. For one centerpiece, even two you can buy a small paint bottle. read more

Dollar Store DIY Pumpkin Serving Tray

It doesn’t exactly feel like fall yet but I am ready for fall. That is why I need to start the fall crafts to at least pretend like fall is approaching. I live in Phoenix and we don’t really have a fall but I love all the fall pumpkin decorations. This diy pumpkin serving tray is made with dollar store materials and so easy to put together. It is perfect for serving food at a fall party or for Thanksgiving! You can also put fall scented candles on top or other fall decorations. It’s versatile and I just love how it turned out. The only thing I didn’t get at the dollar store is the paint. I used some copper paint I already had. Craft stores, Amazon, Target or Walmart have a variety of cheap shimmery paints. I love how the copper worked out because it blended well with the orange and I didn’t have to add too much paint. read more

Turkey Treat Bags With Printable Tags

If you’ve seen any of my Thanksgiving posts you know I can’t cook Thanksgiving food. I can make desserts and cute decorations that’s more my thing. This year I am making a side dish and even that intimidates me! I cannot tell you how many times I have ruined mashed potatoes. We are also doing Thanksgiving a little early to work with the families schedule so I really need to start figuring out what I can make. I did figure out how to make these cute turkey treat bags with free printable tags and that’s important too ;). These little turkey bags are really easy! You can stuff them with candy or non-candy options, whichever you prefer. Stickers, crayons or bubbles could be fun too. You can hand them out to kids in class. I think I will make some stuffed with fun little toys and crayons for the kids table at Thanksgiving. It is hard to get kids to sit through a big meal and activities always help :). read more

Thankful Tree

I am jumping on the bandwagon and making a Thankful tree! I have an abundance of fall leaves so why not! I was tempted to take all of my fall leaves, put them in a pile and jump in it. The fake ones are as close as I get to falling leaves since I live in Arizona. There is still time I might still make a pile of leaves ;).

Any way to show thanks is good and I like the idea of using it for decoration as well. We are adding leaves to the thankful tree throughout the month that we are thankful for to keep up the grateful spirit. I have a lot to be thankful for and some of them are silly things like pizza but sometimes it’s good to acknowledge the little things too! read more

Thankful Balloons!

Thanksgiving is coming up soon! Do you usually cook for Thanksgiving? I have never been the one to cook everything for Thanksgiving. I can make a simple side dish and bake a pie. My mom usually cooks the turkey and most of the meal. I will help out with what I can but cooking just doesn’t come naturally to me. I am thankful for my mom for all that she does around the holidays and really year round. I am thankful for my entire family because I really lucked out with an amazing family! I thought a fun way to show what you are thankful for on Thanksgiving is with thankful balloons. You can decorate balloons with fall leafs and write what you are thankful for. They are easy to make and fun to take pictures with so you can remember what everyone is thankful for. You can take pictures all together with the balloons as a background or individually holding up the balloons. A fun way to show thanks! read more
