I’ve been busy with the craft room challenge getting my craft room all pretty. This month has been a bit of a process to get my craft room organized. Luckily, we had a whole month to get it all done and honestly the decorating part I did all in the last few days. This part was a lot of fun for me! I still have a few items I want to add. Some wall prints and other little decorative items among them. I have my eye on some gold pineapple wall decals and mermaid art prints. I wanted to make some little mermaid printables. One saying “Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat” and another saying “I have gadgets and gismos a plenty”. I thought those lines would fit perfectly with a craft room. Hopefully I can get around to making those and adding them to this post in the near future. I went with a mermaid theme for my craft room because well basically I’ve always loved mermaids. I spent a large part of my childhood pretending to be a mermaid. I’d use the pool rings around my feet to make them into a mermaid tail. I sooo wish they had the mermaid tails from today that you can swim with when I was a kid. My sister, cousin, and I would pretend to be mermaids while laying in the hammock at my grandparents house. My grandmother would pretend to catch us in the hammock “net”. We live near the beach and our house has a bit of a beach vibe to it. The mermaid theme goes well with the vibe of our house. Plus, this is a fun room for kids too. I enjoy a bit of childlike whimsy and luckily I have a child. This is a fun and colorful room for both of us to enjoy. Not as much for my man but he’s just excited it’s all clean and tidy!

Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating the ones you love! There is no one in the world that I love more than my daughter Keira. That is why I wanted to find a fun way to show her how much I care for Valentine’s Day. She is a fun, smart, and curious 6 year old. She also really loves school and learning. I thought it would be fun to make a cute smart cookie gift bag for her with fun things inside to encourage her learning and show her I care. Plus cute cookies to decorate. What could be better than cookies, American Greetings Valentine’s Day Cards, and books?! I also made some fun smart cookie printables to go with the gift bag. These would look cute also with cards and cookies thank out to friends for smaller gifts. Cards are a great way to show your loved ones how you feel. If you are making a gift bag I have printables for all kinds of fun gifts that encourage kids and their learning.
Happy Friyay! It’s the time of the week to have some wine. Wine is best with a girlfriend while catching up and talking about life. Life, kids, or random fun conversations with friends. Isn’t it?! I love the ideas of Galentine’s Day and ladies celebrating each other. That is why I made these fun Galen-Wine’s Day wine labels for favors or larger bottles of wine. I don’t know about you but I could use some Galen-Wine’s time with girlfriends. You can put the little bottles in a wine glass.
It is time to get organized! I am waaayy behind on the craft room challenge because well life. I have actually been doing the things but getting pictures and all that up has been a struggle. Sometimes life happens and when it rains it pours. As long as I get it all done in the end that is what matters. Then I will be organized and on track for the rest of the year! Hallelujah! Last week was purging and while I did purge some stuff, I am still not done with all of that aaaannd I didn’t get the post up last week. My daughter and man got a day off in the middle of the week for an ice day(apparently that’s a thing in Florida haha) and my plans went out the window. We had some much needed family time and a mini road trip but I didn’t get the things I needed to get done. Then I had a sponsored post that I thought was due on one day but it was really a day earlier. This is why I need to get organized! Plus wedding details, the countdown is on to my wedding, it is less than two months away, holy cow!
One of my favorite Valentine’s Day candies is conversation hearts. I actually will always go for chocolate over this type of candy but when it comes time for Valentine’s Day I have to buy conversation hearts. More because they are bright and cheery. They are colorful and well colorful things in life are my jam including these cute colorful candy. They are fun on their own but I wanted to make them even more fun by using them for easy Valentine’s Day Conversation Heart Games! These are fun games to play with kids and adults over some cocktails. Adults can enjoy little simple games too. However, they are definitely kid approved, I tested them out on my kiddo and she had a blast! I made a couple of classics Tic Tac Toe and Connect Four. Then I added a couple dice game options.
Not only are conversations cute on their own but you can use them for decorations at parties! Put some in a vase with tea lights or flowers for centerpieces. Spread them over tables for an edible confetti. They are just the cutest candy ever and they make the best decorations. I decided to make some printables inspired by these adorable little candies. They are bright colors and have fun sayings on them. I added a hey girl even though it’s not on a heart because I love that meme! These would be great for a Galentine’s Day party.

It is week 2 of the craft room challenge and I have been busy cleaning off the surfaces of my desk and my daughters desk. We share this room and both have messes to clean up. I had piles of paper to tackle as well as craft supplies. My Christmas stuff was just sitting on my desk in a box with no where to go. The funny thing is we were actually out of town for Christmas so I didn’t even go all out I just made smaller projects that added up to a large mess. My daughters school papers from the fall were out of control and I’m still trying to figure out a system for these. Then I had some bridal shower stuff adding to the mess. You can see the before of my surfaces from week 1. It wasn’t unbearable but if I kept adding to it things would have become a craftnado real fast.
It is the beginning of the year and you know what that means, time to get organized! Ok I never actually say it is time to get organized. Typically I have accepted that I am an unorganized mess and that I will always exist in a pile of stuff. However, in the past I have been in apartments and working with small amounts of space. Now I have my own office/craft room and I want to make it look nice. It is kind of in the middle of an identity crisis. Is it a guest room, craft room, office, place for my daughter to work on school work, or place for me to just pile up random stuff that doesn’t have a place yet. So far the random piles have won out over anything functional. I end up taking my computer into the kitchen because that room feels too chaotic to work in. Well that is about to change thanks to a little kick in the butt from the crafty ladies of the Craft Cult organizing the Craft Room Challenge 2018. We want you all to follow along with us and organize your own space as well! We are tackling one area at a time to make it smooth sailing and not crazy overwhelming. If I can do it you can all do it too! The best part is there are so many ladies organizing their mess of a craft room. Everyone has different supplies to organize, levels of mess, and areas of crafting that they specialize in. You can find your crafty spirit animal in this group that has the same messy issues that you do.
If you can’t make it all the way to the North Pole you can still have a North Pole party! I made these fun printables with a North Pole theme. There are larger sign ones for larger decorations. Then smaller ones for a cake or cupcake toppers. One way to reindeer parking, another to Santa’s village, and another to candy cane lane. Which one will you stop by first. This would be really fun for a North Pole themed breakfast or pancake dinner. You can add lots of powdered sugar on top of the pancakes to make them nice and snowy.
