Spring is in the air, the flowers are blooming and before you know it Easter will be here! Are you guys ready for Easter? I’m ready for Easter crafts but I am trying to limit my sugar intake at the moment. Hi my name is Valerie and I’m a sugar addict. Admitting it is the first step, right?! Don’t worry I am still going to be making lots of yummy treats because I just love baking. I think maybe I will just try it all in moderation. Back to my point I made these Easter chick lollipops because they are easy to make and give out to friends. You can also put them in an Easter basket or serve on Easter. I personally also can resist the lollipops so as a mom to make just for the kiddo and her friends they are a winner! I love Easter chicks they are an underrated Easter animal watch out bunnies the chicks are taking over! It’s also International Women’s Day so there we go double chick love!
I decided to have some fun with Easter eggs! The bright colors are already kind of fun but you have to turn them into something to make them even better. Right now unicorns are so hot, in, whatever kids are saying these days for trendy! I’ve seen unicorns popping up all over my pinterest feed and on Facebook. Unicorn treats, unicorn drinks, and unicorn party decorations. Let me tell you I love all the unicorn love. I think in a past lifetime I may have been a unicorn. These unicorn Easter eggs are perfect to put in an Easter basket or decorate with kids for decorations. I like these plastic eggs because they can last for the next month and we get a lot of use out of them. We also have to dye the traditional way with the huge mess, vinegar smell and the eggs never turning out that cute. That’s part of the Easter tradition. These eggs on the other hand are easy to make and really fun for a bright, festive unicorn Easter!
We love playing games at my house. Sometimes we just come up with games for fun. We have also been getting ready for the new Beauty and the Beast movie. That means Beauty and the Beast parties! It also means everyone needs some party games to celebrate or just to play at home over spring break! I have some ideas for easy party games. Some take a few materials from the dollar store. All of them should be easy enough for a range of ages to play. We know all ages love the movie. It was one of my favorites as a kid and now I get to relive it all with my daughter. Isn’t that the best when you can relive the movies you loved as a child with your own child?!
With spring right around the corner a lot of people will be doing some spring entertaining. Also right around the corner is the new Beauty and The Beast movie. We are so excited for the movie. It is one of my favorites from childhood and my daughter also loves it. She loves dressing up in her Belle dress and playing princess. I made these easy flower lollipops inspired by the movie and spring! They can be made with differently color flowers for different themes. These rose lollipops look so pretty, kids and adults would love them!
One of the most memorable parts of Beauty and the Beast is the rose under the glass. It also makes for such a pretty party decoration. When I was a kid and I went to Disneyland I picked out a little glass Beauty and the Beast rose as my souvenir. That is how much I love it! I was recently looking for that souvenir but I guess it got lost with my moves since childhood. I did find a couple Beauty and the Beast glass figures from Disneyland that my mom had held on to. She’s better at keeping things in one piece than I am. These decorations are fun to make just because, for parties, or Beauty and the Beast inspired tea parties. I used just a few dollar store materials to make these. Anyone can make these Beauty and The Beast centerpieces inspired by the movie.
One of my daughters favorite diys that I have come up with are wands. We have made snowflake wands and fairy wands. She also loves playing dress up. She has gone through different faces of princesses. First it was Cinderella, then Belle, and her absolute favorite is Princess Leia. She is the biggest Star Wars fan on the planet! However, we both need a break from Star Wars. By both of us I mostly mean me. We are really excited to watch the new Beauty and the Beast movie. It is one of my favorites from childhood and I love to share my love for it with my daughter. Having a daughter is the best! I really enjoy this age where we can have princess tea parties and enjoy all the girly stuff. Since my daughter loves wands I decided to make some easy wands inspired by Belle. They of course had to have a red rose and a touch of yellow. These are made with dollar store materials. The paper straws I had a few extra from a party. You can find paper straws at Target, Walmart, some dollar stores, or party stores.
It is really starting to feel like spring. That means it is time to get outdoors. Outdoor crafting and party time call for lots of flowers. I made these simple napkin flowers. I am going to show you how to make napkin flowers with a few easy steps. These are just paper napkins. A while ago I found these marble napkins and have been waiting to find a use for them. They look so pretty as flowers. The napkin flowers would also look great with a solid color. You can use them at each place setting out even put some in a vase for a decoration and guests to grab. I’m sure there are fancier napkin flowers and more complicated ways to make them but I went for as simple as possible.
I’m going to get real with you about this post. I wanted to come up with ideas with things I had in my craft supplies. I’ve been cleaning things out because we just moved. Some stuff I wanted to keep in case I had some use for them in the future. I hate to waste anything and because of that I have hoarded random craft supplies. I had one pink plastic table cloth that has no purpose. A while ago I saw on Pinterest someone had use plastic table cloths to make floating flowers in the pool. I have no idea wear that post was from but I wanted to create my own floating pool flowers. These aren’t the prettiest flowers ever but with a bunch of them I think they would look so pretty in the pool for a party! Also just for an outdoor party. These plastic tablecloth floating flowers are a simple diy decoration that no one will expect. I made 3 of them with one table cloth. These table cloths I got in a pack of two from the dollar store. If you had 5 packs of them you could make 30 flowers! I can tell you how to make them even prettier than my attempt.
It’s already starting to feel like spring here in Phoenix! It is really the best time of year to be outside here. The nice weather made me want to do some outside crafting and make flower crafts. I don’t usually make wreaths but I think I’m going to start making some for every season. This hoop wreath is easy to make and could be fun for indoors to hang on a door or just up on a wall. I just love the things you can make with paper and anyone with any crafting skill level could make this paper flower hoop wreath. As soon as it’s nice out I encourage you to do some outdoor crafting it’s refreshing and nice to get outside. Now I want to have an outdoors girls craft day!
I am sitting here surrounded by boxes getting ready to move. Moving is an exciting and stressful time. I am not an organized person by nature. Since I love crafting I tend to collect things over time and hoard a bit. You never know when you will need some extra toilet paper rolls. It is the time for me to clear all of that out. Soon we will be moving and then comes the celebrations! Instead of really focusing on the moving part I am all ready to plan a party once we are all moved! I made up these cute little housewarming party printables. You will definitely need some fun decorations at your housewarming party and these printables are an easy way to make your house cute and decorated for a housewarming party. Housewarming parties don’t have to be a lot of fuss, just a simple get together with friends.
