I love plants but have never been able to keep them alive. I can even kill a cactus, it’s true I have killed about 5 cacti. I made this easy cactus garden out of paper that you can’t kill. The best thing is you can make a bunch of these and you don’t have to remember to do anything after. These are fun decorations for parties or home. You can put the paper cacti in a vase with sand too but I have these fun fiesta style paper printable holders for them. Get the printable CLICK HERE
I’m ready for a fiesta and I made these fun Mexican blanket party printables for the occasion. I have a Mexican blanket that I use for picnics and I love it. The blanket makes it feel like a fun fiesta when we just go to the park. I thought those fun bright colors would make cute party decorations and I was right! I also added yarn to the edges to make it really feel like the real thing. These fun free fiesta party printables are perfect for Cinco De Mayo or even summer parties. I have the steps for you of how to add the yarn with my printable placemats. Here I have banners, toppers, and labels. Print the fiesta party printables on white card stock paper, this paper is thicker and better for printable decorations.
Who’s ready for a fiesta?! I know it’s not quite Cinco De Mayo, but in my opinion fiestas can happen any time of year. I love Mexican food and a colorful party! I think spring is a good time to start the fiestas and keep them going through the summer. It is the best time of year in Phoenix to get outdoors and entertain before it is too hot. Although I love a good pool party too! If you’ve visited my blog you know I also can’t get enough of bright colors. That makes a fiesta the perfect fit. I am doing more Cinco De Mayo posts than Mother’s Day this year because I am in a colorful mood. Don’t worry I will also have some Mother’s Day fun as well! Last year I made these Fiesta Flowers that have been a huge hit and are really easy to make! They would look adorable with these placemats. This week is full of fun and colorful Mexican blanket printables! Just attach some yarn to the ends to make it feel like a real Mexican Blanket! The free printable fiesta placemats are really fun for serving food at parties. Let’s get this party started!

Who doesn’t love rice Krispie Treats?! I love these adorable Rice Krispies Nests from Dancing Through The Rain!
Spring is in the air and that means bright colors all around. The flowers are blooming and I just love this time of year. In Phoenix I think spring starts a bit earlier than the rest of the country. Here it’s in the 90’s and other places are having snow storms. Even if it isn’t quite outdoor entertaining time you can still make some fun colorful spring chocolate bark with kids. I happen to have a bunch of bright colors of candy melts that I needed to use up. I used white, orange, and green. These colors kind of remind me of a retro vibe. When I was a kid my grandparents still had the retro shag carpet in these bright colors. They also are fun for spring! Next time I think I will use pink, yellow, and orange. Then I topped them with colorful sprinkles and that is all that is needed. I am still trying to perfect the art of making colorful chocolate. It’s an art in my mind. Since I have made mistakes I will share what they are and what you can do differently.
Peeps are just the cutest and they make the best decorations! You can eat peeps, use the candy in vases with flowers for decor, and now with my peeps printables you can make a whole party! I have gift tags, printable toppers like above, and peeps you can make into a banner. You can also put the larger ones in a vase attached to a wooden dowel for centerpieces. Just put tissue paper in the bottom of the vase to steady them. If you just need the toppers or gift tags they are all separate to download!
Confession, I used to not like Peeps. I’ve always thought they were an adorable candy but they are super sweet. I have found that they are best when you add them to something. Add a bit of chocolate and graham crackers and they are so tasty! I love Peeps in a s’more. These also have the added fun of the colorful chocolate bark wit some sprinkles. It is a colorful candy dream. The more color the better for spring and Easter! I made these with cute little printable s’more tags that look like peeps. They say “More S’mores For My Peeps” and “I Like You S’more Than Most Peeps”. Cute and silly tags to match the cute peeps. These are fun for kids and adults alike. Adults maybe even more than kids, I will have to hand some out to my girlfriends. I used blue Peeps, I was going to pick the purple my favorite color but the purple ones faces weren’t as cute, they were a little lopsided. It happens! I do have a pet peeve with Peeps. They have all of these fun colors but I don’t want to pick one I want a mix of them all. I’m too indecisive to pick one color. So Peeps peeps please put all the colors in one package!
Continuing with my butterlfy fun I have these adorable butterfly decorations. We just made these for at home for fun. I’m starting to decorate for spring and these were just an easy DIY decoration. If you get a pack of 24 sheets of tissue paper at the dollar store you can make 12 large tissue paper butterflies! They are just as easy as my Tissue Paper Fiesta Flowers, check those out too! You can make them both for spring flowers and butterflies, they go hand in hand. I chose bright fun colors for these but you can really do any colors you want. Butterflies come in so many different colors. We go to this place called butterfly wonderland that has a rain forest type room where the butterflies are flying all around. My daughter tries to get them to land on her but she mostly chases them away by running after them. She gets so excited if one lands on her, it is the cutest! She loves butterflies so much. She also wants a butterfly room for her bedroom and these are a cheap and easy decoration to have in her room.
My daughter loves butterflies. She has a few butterfly dresses and they needed a cute headband to match them. This was an easy headband to make. We used card stock paper but you could also use felt. Then we added a little glitter glue to give it some more sparkle. She loves this new headband. She had a bunch of plain headbands that she never wears and I thought they could use a little makeover. This is a crazy easy diy butterfly headband. I love that it looks like a little butterfly is resting on top of her head.
This week we are all about the butterflies! It feels like spring and the butterflies are out and about. We love butterflies and my daughter has loved the butterfly projects. She really likes this one because she got to throw something and make a mess. I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture above but that is butterfly confetti. You can really tell in person and when it is “flying” around it looks really cool. It is easy to make confetti with tissue paper and this butterfly confetti is simple to make for fun or butterfly parties. I went to a wedding that had a butterfly theme and they had butterfly confetti. I thought it was really cool and would make a fun project to make at home. You can buy it I’m sure but why buy when you can easily DIY, right?!
