This gift is inspired by my own mom. She is the queen of naps! She has a ton of energy is always on the go when she is awake but she also loves her naps. She is also the master at getting her grand kids to nap. She’s the baby whisperer, it’s a gift! When my daughter used to nap I would nap right along with her. When she stopped napping I went through nap withdrawal! I would get sleepy around nap time and just crave that nap while my daughter was getting into things. We both would get a little grumpy around nap time. I was trying to think about what moms really want for Mother’s Day. I thought a kid free vacation, a mani/pedi, alone time at Target and a nap where the top contenders. This Mother’s Day gift with printable tag is a Mom’s Nap Kit. You can get creative with what to include in the nap kit but I put a blanket, eye mask, fuzzy socks, and head phones. You could put some other relaxing treats like tea and chocolate. This should come with an offer to watch a mom’s kids while she takes a nap. That is a priceless gift! I’m also a sucker for warm and cozy things.
My daughter loves to draw. We both love arts and crafts we also love to draw. She likes to surprise me with drawings but she is very serious about me not looking. If I take a peak at what she is drawing she gets mad. She is apparently a serious artist! I love her surprise drawings and how much she loves to draw. It reminds me of myself as a kid. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be a cartoonist. One summer I took an art class. Unfortunately I broke my arm at the beginning of the class session and had to draw left handed. I have to say considering I am completely right handed my drawings weren’t terrible. My daughter looks like her dad but her personality is a lot like mine. I wanted to incorporate drawing into my Mother’s Day posts since it is something we both love. Also, whether a kid is a great artists or not kid doodles are the cutest! There are tags for Mom and Grandma to put on these gift boxes.
Since Mother’s Day is right around the corner and so is Cinco De Mayo I had the crazy idea to combine the two. I have made one pinata before and I loved it so I wanted to make a pinata for Mother’s Day. This diy present pinata is a perfect present for moms. Plus there is a fun giveaway at the end of the post!
As a mom a lot is asked of you on a daily basis. You have to do a million jobs in a day every single day. Sometimes it can be really stressful! I constantly feel like I could use a massage, a spa day, some wine and some chocolate. I also think there is a certain kind of stress relief from hitting something. No, I don’t want to hit a person, I’m a lover not a fighter :). However, hitting a pinata is just a good time and yes, it feels good to hit something sometimes. Who doesn’t love hitting a pinata and why should kids have all of the fun?! If you don’t want to make a pinata you can buy one and fill it with goodies. However, this pretty diy present pinata is fun to make! You can make it in any colors that mom might like. You can also make this pinata for birthdays or any occasion. Every party can be a pinata party!
Being a mom can be really hard sometimes. Usually when I put my daughter in time out we both need a little time out. I love her more than anything but sometimes I need a time out! It’s funny how time out to kids is a punishment but as an adult a little time to just sit in the corner in peace sounds fantastic! That is why I thought it would be fun to make a little mom’s time out bag. Mom’s deserve a little “time out” break to just relax and take care of themselves. You can put whatever your mom or mom friends like in their time out bag. Little spa/beauty things, nail polish, wine, tea, chocolate, coloring pages and anything a mom might like for her “time out”. You can have a bunch of little bags at a mothers day party to give to a group of moms.
