Santa Bag and Present Treats!

Santa Bag and Present Treats. How to make marshmallow Santa bags with snow and candy canes inside. Also present cupcakes for SantaI know everyone this time of year makes cookies. I love cookies as much as the next gal but cupcakes are just my thing. I like to make cupcakes, marshmallow pops and cake pops. They are just so cute! Since I’ve had Santa on the brain but didn’t have time to figure out how to make Santas I decided to make Santa bags and presents. These would be fun to leave out for Santa, for Christmas Eve or on Christmas when you are opening up presents. Both are really easy to make! For the cupcakes all you will need are cupcakes, frosting(any color you want), sugar(not needed) and pull n peel Twizzlers. read more

Chanukah Party Ideas!

Chanukah Party Ideas

It’s Chanukah (or Hanukkah I like to mix it up and use both spellings ;)) time! Chanukah so fun and a great time to get together with family. Also a time to eat lots and lots of latkes! My love for latkes I cannot put into words, for me it is a comfort food. Luckily they are only around me for holidays. Otherwise I would just be eating them all day everyday.

The only problem I have with Chanukah is the lack of decorations available. Growing up we celebrated Hanukkah and Christmas, which was a lot of fun. However, Hanukkah had a hard time competing with Christmas because of the lack of decorations and Santa. Chanukah Harry just isn’t the same as Santa(SNL reference). It is the festival of lights but doesn’t have as many lights as Christmas. I do love how many temples now are putting up giant menorahs that you can see from a mile away. I also love the mench on a bench, how funny is that?! The Chanukah section is usually a tiny bin buried in between Christmas decorations. I am going to share with you a few easy DIY Chanukah party decorations. read more

Spiders!! EEK!

Easy spider Halloween ideas

I try to extend all holidays for the entire month. We do crafts and make decorations to get into the spirit! We made a bunch of spider Halloween crafts. This year Keira wanted to be a ghost for Halloween. I was excited about her costume choice since she dresses up as a princess almost every day, that’s just a Tuesday for us. Luckily Etsy has some cute ghost costumes so I didn’t have to figure out how to make one. I cannot sew to save my life, although I can glue like nobody’s business. Today I got Keira’s costume in the mail and wanted to try it on her. Once it was on she didn’t want to take it off and was ready to go trick or treating. She was waiting for the sun to go down for trick or treating. It’s hard to convince a three year old it is not trick or treating time when they get the idea set in their mind. Now her costume is in hiding until Halloween. Instead of trick or treating she had to settle for making fun Halloween decorations with me :). read more

Ice Cream!

PicMonkey Collage2

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! We have been having an amazing ice cream month. Celebrating all month long with as much ice cream as possible. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it! My daughter and I usually celebrate sundae Sundays. We wear our party hats and go out for ice cream. People always assume it’s her birthday but we don’t need a birthday to wear party hats. I am enjoying this time now because I know soon enough my daughter will be extremely embarrassed by wearing party hats in public with me. Not to say I won’t still wear party hats and embarrass her. read more

Drinks and Diamonds

PicMonkey Collage2

Hi party pals! It seems like when it rains it pours. Not literally because I live in Arizona and it never really pours. The last year has just been packed with well showers, not actually showers again. I am talking about showers for brides and babies! For a friends bridal shower the maid of honor and I put together a beautiful drinks and diamonds theme. It was a fun unique theme that just came about organically with the brides colors and interests. Who doesn’t like a nice cocktail and diamond rings? :). The wedding colors are a deep purple and red were used in all of the decorations. I was in charge of centerpieces and sweets(my favorites). read more

Summer Party!

Summer Party Ideas -Val Event GalI hope everyone is enjoy your summer so far. We basically live in the pool at this point since it is usually 110 degrees. It is hard with kids in the summer in Arizona. They just want to be outside all the time and we usually cant go out for more than 10 minutes unless there is water involved. We have to get creative with things to do and activities. Since it dropped below 110 this week we had to take advantage of the cool weather :). We had a few people over to swim. I put together some easy decorations and food. read more

My little ladybug’s first birthday!

Hi party pals! Recently I helped plan my niece’s first birthday party. It made me realize how long it has been since my daughter turned one. She is three now and it is crazy how time flies! I felt a bit nostalgic and I had to go look at pictures of my daughter’s first birthday. For her first birthday I picked out a ladybug theme, which worked out perfectly! I just love ladybugs, one of the only bugs that puts a smile on my face :). I knew the first birthday would probably be the only time I could pick out a theme for her party so I had to take advantage of it. Now at three my daughter has her own ideas about what she is going to wear and what theme she wants for a party. I love seeing my daughters personality come out more and more as she gets older. However, I sometimes miss that little snuggly 1 year old. read more
