15 Simple Party Cleaning Tips

15 Simple Party Cleaning Tips!

I would say my least favorite part of throwing parties is the clean up! More like my least favorite party of life is cleaning. I’m not afraid to say it, I don’t like cleaning, but it is a necessary evil. When you throw a party sadly after all the fun you have to clean up the mess. Since I am a blogger that focuses heavily on parties I know a thing or two about making glittery confetti messes. I am creating things on a daily basis and with that comes tiny pretty messes. Since making messes comes more naturally to me than cleaning them up I have come up with some shortcuts and ways to make the cleaning party a bit easier. I also have thrown enough parties to figure out what does and doesn’t work with the clean up. You can see my messes above, that top picture sure has a lot of dirt haha. In Arizona we get these lovely dust storms that bring massive amounts of dust all around, I decided that dust needed some confetti on top. My bottom more Instagram friendly mess picture I was playing around with confetti while wearing my unicorn slippers! Grown women need unicorn slippers too! I never outgrew my love for fairies, unicorns, and mermaids. Luckily I had a daughter so I can still play with all those silly fun things. Those are just a few of my many party messes that I have made and had to clean up! read more

Hot Air Balloon Decoration!

IMG_38563

Where I live there are hot air balloons in the sky almost every morning. It makes it a little easier to get up early when you can go out and see the hot air balloons. I am just not a morning person, what would I do without coffee! Anyways the hot air balloons are so fun and whimsical they brighten my day! They also make for a nice party decoration. I’m always looking for fun things to do with balloons to dress them up a bit. For the hot air balloons basket you can use a paper cup or a party hat like I did. This hot air balloon decoration is pretty and easy to make. read more

Magic Party!

Magic Party Ideas and DIYS - Val Event Gal

My niece Zoe just turned 6. I can’t believe she is already 6! She is so grown up now and I just love watching her grow up. I missed a birthday party or two of hers when I was living in San Diego. Now I get to help out with all of the decorations and making her birthday extra special. She had big ideas for her birthday with a magic theme, magician(what is a magic party without a magician?!), and a bouncy castle. She wanted rabbits in hats with purple, pink, black and white colors. I love, love how the color combination turned out. Everything looked amazing and her magic birthday party was a blast. Plus, Zoe got to show off her amazing magic skills. read more

Rainbow Birthday Party!

Rainbow Birthday Party

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up I was looking for rainbow projects. That reminded me of the rainbow birthday party I helped plan for my niece’s 1st birthday. She will be 2 in June, they all just grow up way too fast! I had a lot of fun planning that party. My sister wanted to do bright colors and I thought rainbows would be cute! Since the party was at an indoor play area we didn’t go over the top with decorations. Really when a kid turns 1 the party theme and decorations are more for the adults ;). read more

Oscar Party

IMG_2593

I am really excited for the Oscar’s on Sunday. Honestly, I haven’t seen most of the movies but I love seeing what everyone is wearing and making a list of movies I will be seeing when they come out on Netflix ;). That’s mom life for you, not many movie nights out. It’s not an occasion for me to go over the top but there are some cute easy ways to have a fun little Oscar viewing party.

Hearts, hearts and more hearts!

IMG_2307

I am all about the hearts right now! I got some red pipe cleaners and have found so many fun things you can do with them to decorate! They are easy to shape into hearts and look really cute wrapped around paper straws.

IMG_2337

I also made a cute little love bug headband. Wouldn’t really stay on too long but can work for a Valentine’s Day party. You can secure it with booby pins or barrettes.

Take one pipe cleaner and bend it down in a circle shape. Then take another pipe cleaner and bend it in half. Make a heart shape on each end as shown above. You bend it in between your fingers for the top of the heart. Wrap the bottom together. Then put it around the middle of the other pipe cleaner and twist it a few times to keep it in place. read more

Valentine’s Day Kissing Booth

PicMonkey Collage3

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Don’t I have the cutest little Valentine?! I have no problem being single this Valentine’s Day because I have a lot of love in my life. My daughter on the other hand has a Valentine’s date, his mom and I are just going to hang out while they have their date. Ok it’s a play date but they are just too adorable. She is not going to date for another 13 years! In preparation of Valentine’s Day I wanted to have a cute set up for taking pictures. I decided to make a “kissing booth” photo booth. It was super easy to make and really fun for pictures. I can’t wait to take some cute pictures of Keira and her Valentine’s “date” in the kissing booth. Another fun thing about the kissing booth is you actually have an excuse to make the duck lips kissy face with out being judged. It is a judgement free zone. read more

Candy Heart Pops!

PicMonkey Collage

These marshmallow pops and heart candy pops taste great! They are super easy to make and look adorable. I am all about the bright fun colors this Valentine’s Day! I think I went a little overboard with the candy hearts I bought so I am using them in any ways I can. No actual baking involved here so anyone could make these.

For the heart pops you need candy melts any color you want or white chocolate, conversation hearts or heart sprinkles, lollipop sticks and a candy making bottle. read more

20’s Casino Party

Are you ready to paaaarrrttyy?! For my best friend’s 30th birthday or 20th round 2. I wanted to plan something fun and unique to her personality. She loves going to Vegas but we didn’t want the expense of that trip. Plus with my friends we would have had a Bridesmaids moment and not even make it there. I also know she loves all of the 1920’s mob shows and mob history. The first thing she wanted to do when we went to Vegas was go to the Mob Museum. It was actually really interested definitely worth checking out if you are in Las Vegas. I decided to make her party a 20’s mobster casino theme. We had the party at The Talking Stick, a nice casino resort in town. My friend is not the type you can do a surprise party for, she likes to plan and know what’s going on. I involved her in the planning but I had to leave a few surprises. read more

Easy Photo Booth Signs!

IMG_0173

I can’t believe it is almost New Years! This year really flew by but that seems to happen a lot. Overall it was a really great year and I think 2015 is going to be even better! This year I will be staying in for New Years with my daughter. I have a few little activities planned and then we will probably be in bed by 10. We get a little cray-zay up in here. If you are throwing a New Years bash I have fun easy photo booth signs that you can make in minutes! I made these for my friend’s 30th birthday. It was a 20’s mobster casino theme, which was a blast. I wrote mobster names on the signs. The black and white colors are also perfect for New Years. You can write goodbye 2014, welcome 2015, Happy New Year, countdown and cheers! You can also leave them blank and have everyone write their new years resolutions. People could also write their favorite thing about 2014. read more
