Modelo and Corona with Taco Cookies.jpg

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays. I grew up in Phoenix and we always have a big celebration for Cinco de Mayo. It is the perfect time of year to be outside by the pool. We have a pool party celebration with lots of food, of course beer, family, and friends. I love Mexican beer! Corona Extra was the first beer I ever tried and I immediately loved the clean, crisp taste. I also love the rich, refreshing flavor of Modelo Especial. It is a family favorite. For our Cinco de Mayo celebration everyone brings Mexican dishes to indulge in. Usually I am in charge of desserts. I am an expert at eating Mexican dishes but not at making them. Desserts are my favorite to make for all occasions. I love desserts that look like savory foods and that is why I thought it would be the perfect time to make cookies that look like little tacos. In the past I have made cupcakes that look like hot dogs and cookies that look like pizza. Now it’s time to tackle taco cookies! They add some extra fun to the dessert table! These have all the elements of a real taco in sweet dessert form. They also pair very well with Modelo Especial and Corona Extra. The flavors of these beers taste amazing with a little sweet bite. I don’t know about you but I need a little sweetness to balance out all of the spice from a Cinco de Mayo meal. My dad makes his specialty spicy shrimp that come with a warning label because of the heat level. Not everyone can handle the heat. I usually can have one before my mouth is on fire! read more

mimosa popsicles for adults

Mimosa Popsicles

Mimosa Popsicles. These adult popsicles are tasty for a brunch pool party and refreshing to cool off in summer!jpg

I love brunch and mimosas. I could really eat breakfast food at all times. We do breakfast for dinner sometimes because you can never have too much breakfast food. Also because I am not much of a chef and some breakfast foods are easy. Brunch is always a good option for having people over with kids, my late night days are over. Of course for brunch you have to have mimosas. I love mimosas! They are such a refreshing drink and the only acceptable way to drink before noon. In the summer in Arizona I have a problem keeping mimosas cold enough. You do not want a warm mimosa. That is where the mimosa popsicles comes in. They are even more refreshing than a regular mimosa. You can serve them at a pool party and everyone will love them! Obviously this is not a kids popsicle but you can have juice pops for kids too. Momma needs a popsicle every once in a while. I also need a little adult brunch time! read more

Pineapple Margarita

Pineapple Margarita

With Cinco De Mayo coming up I have had margaritas on the mind! It is also starting to heat up here in Arizona so all I want to do is consume frozen drinks. My coffee is about to get iced, iced tea, iced cocktails and just bathing in ice because it gets so ridiculously hot! We also are big into Cinco De Mayo here. I love a good margarita and I also love pineapples so I thought why not put them together. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if this combination would work out but this pineapple margarita is fantastic! Such a refreshing drink for summer and for a fiesta. Are you ready for a fiesta?! I think I need to have an online fiesta, wouldn’t that be fun! Pajama fiesta. That is mostly how I party these days anyways a marg in pjs while watching Scandal. read more

Ugly Sweater Koozies

Ugly Sweater Koozies, dress up your dirinks at a holiday party with ugly sweater koozies!

I’m definitely a fan of the ugly sweater craze and these ugly sweater koozies are perfect for an ugly sweater party. A lot of them I don’t even think are ugly just very festive and fun. About 5 years ago I could not find ugly sweaters anywhere for a party and had to make my own. I can’t sew at all so I think I glued some Christmas patches on a plain red sweater, gluing I can do. Now ugly sweaters are everywhere and a ton of people are having ugly sweater parties! I love that because adults need to dress silly and have fun more often. I made these little ugly sweater koozies with felt. Okay they are more just decorative sweaters but if you add some pants or felt around the bottom of the bottle they are koozies. Sometimes beer gets cold and needs a little sweater. You can also use the same template to make an ugly sweater garland using felt or Christmas color card stock paper! read more

DIY Washi Tape Serving Tray

DIY Washi Tape Serving Tray. Serve up drinks on a festive serving tray made decorative with washi tape

Happy Friday! Since it is the weekend and I am on weekend time this post is a little late. It is also super duper easy because that’s what weekends are for! If you are entertaining and doing cocktails this is a fun DIY Washi Tape Serving Tray. I love washi tape because it can dress up a lot of things and you can make easy decorations with not a lot of skill needed. I used this dollar store plate I had and dressed it up for cocktails. Sprinkles are also always a nice touch too ;).
