Easy Galaxy Rocks

| Crafts, DIY

Lately I have seen all kinds of pretty rocks people are decorating and spreading around town for others to find. It is also a relaxing activity to paint rocks. I used to paint and draw a lot but I haven’t had as much time to paint lately. I wanted to try out the whole fun rock painting craze and it was so fun! I didn’t find the best rocks at first for painting and these were my practice ones but I love love how they turned out. The best thing about these easy galaxy rocks is they look pretty and really anyone can make them. You can add messages on top as well with white or light blue paint. The key to making the galaxy is to have a variety of colors to add depth to the look of the rocks. They don’t have to look perfect and you can really make them your own way! read more

DIY Birthday Minnie Ears

| Birthday Party, DIY

Birthday Minnie Mouse Ears

This year I got to spend my birthday at the happiest place on earth! For the occasion I made some easy DIY birthday Minnie ears to wear at the park. These were super simple and cheap to make for our trip. I made them last minute and was ready to celebrate. It was one of the best birthdays with my fiancé and daughter. There are a few easy ways to personalize these ears too with different colors. You don’t need any fancy craft tools or materials to make them too. I used pinks and yellow because these are colors I like but black ears with bright colors would also look adorable. I wanted to find a way to put a birthday hat on Minnie ears and it can really be done with any Minnie ears but I also wanted some paper confetti! If you are celebrating your birthday you have to have birthday Minnie ears! read more

Unicorn Balloons

| Balloons, DIY

Doesn’t everyone want to be a unicorn or have a unicorn? Well now you can have one just in balloon form. It is easy to make your own unicorn balloons. They won’t float but you can hang them all over to decorate a party! You could also use them for centerpieces just put them on top of vase.

What you need:

balloons in white, pink or rainbow colors

black sharpie

metallic or bright colorful rainbow tissue paper

  • Blow up balloons.
  • Draw on face as shown above with a black sharpie, I used blue because I couldn’t find black at the moment but black would show up better.
  • Take a party hat cut it in half. Glue the edges of the half together.
  • Punch a hole through the top about an inch down and add ribbon to hang.
  • On the bottom add strips of the metallic tissue paper or colorful tissue paper. You can tape them to the inside or punch a hole and tie them on. When you put the horn on the balloon put the hair slightly to the side of the face.
  • Add tape to the inside of the balloon sticky side facing out spread out around the horn. Attach it to the top of the balloon making sure the tape is sticking to the balloon.
  • Hang balloons from the top of the horns.

    DIY Unicorn Wine Gift

    | DIY, Unicorn Party

    Unicorn Wine Bottle

I am putting together some of my favorite things in this post. Wine and unicorns! These unicorn wine bottles are fun to make for friends or girls nights. You can decorate them and bring them to a friend. You can also decorate them for a girls night. Drink some wine and make a unicorn. Sometimes it gets boring just giving a bottle of wine as a gift. You have to dress it up and what better way to do that then to make them a unicorn. Plus, they are super easy to make with just paint, a party hat, and tissue paper. I am thinking of making wine bottle labels for the face to make it even easier! read more

    Unicorn Favor Bags

This week is all about the unicorns because they are awesome and I can never get enough unicorns! I made these adorable unicorn favor bags. You can use this technique to make unicorn gift bags as well. Who wouldn’t love a little gift dressed up as a unicorn. I have some other unicorn fun coming your way later this week but these bags are one of my favorites. I may have an obsession and I may be writing this while wearing my unicorn slippers. Unicorn parties are fun for kids and adults. One of these days I plan to have a unicorn brunch with lots of rainbow fun treats. I got these bags from the dollar store but you can use any white bags, although the handles on the bags worked really well for the ears. For the hair I used some rainbow metallic tissue paper from the party store for the hair. You can use colorful tissue paper as well. read more

    DIY Hanging School Supplies Organizer

    | Crafts, DIY

    School Supplies Organizer

I’m getting my daughter ready for school and something I often struggle with is organizing school supplies. She’s starting first grade and I have a cute little table for her to work at for fun or school assignments. The only problem is there is not a lot of space on the table to put supplies. That is why I decided to make a cute diy hanging school supplies organizer. The best thing about it is that I made it from a cereal box and toilet paper rolls. I just love when I can find things around the house to make stuff out of, don’t you?! Just add some washi tape and anything can look cute! It hangs easily on the wall and saves space! Lets get this crafting started! read more

    Back To School Chocolate Bars

    | Candy, DIY, kids craft

Back to school is a fun time for kids and parents. I think by the end of summer everyone is ready for back to school! What better way to celebrate than with some chocolate. Kids can practice writing letters on chocolates or these are fun to send in school lunches for the first week of school. Nothing complicated to make since there are enough things to do to get ready for school. My daughter is starting first grade and the school supply list is growing! My daughter is excited for this year because it is real grown up kid learning. These chocolate bars are kind of like little chalk boards to write letters. If kids are making them they can write the letters on with a paint brush or with chocolate bottles. It could get messy but it’s also really fun! Plus, every occasion needs chocolate, that is just a fact. Momma needs some chocolate during back to school time that is for sure! Make these back to school chocolate bars for a fun back to school activity with kids! read more
