I’m getting my daughter ready for school and something I often struggle with is organizing school supplies. She’s starting first grade and I have a cute little table for her to work at for fun or school assignments. The only problem is there is not a lot of space on the table to put supplies. That is why I decided to make a cute diy hanging school supplies organizer. The best thing about it is that I made it from a cereal box and toilet paper rolls. I just love when I can find things around the house to make stuff out of, don’t you?! Just add some washi tape and anything can look cute! It hangs easily on the wall and saves space! Lets get this crafting started!

Continuing with my butterlfy fun I have these adorable butterfly decorations. We just made these for at home for fun. I’m starting to decorate for spring and these were just an easy DIY decoration. If you get a pack of 24 sheets of tissue paper at the dollar store you can make 12 large tissue paper butterflies! They are just as easy as my Tissue Paper Fiesta Flowers, check those out too! You can make them both for spring flowers and butterflies, they go hand in hand. I chose bright fun colors for these but you can really do any colors you want. Butterflies come in so many different colors. We go to this place called butterfly wonderland that has a rain forest type room where the butterflies are flying all around. My daughter tries to get them to land on her but she mostly chases them away by running after them. She gets so excited if one lands on her, it is the cutest! She loves butterflies so much. She also wants a butterfly room for her bedroom and these are a cheap and easy decoration to have in her room.
My daughter loves butterflies. She has a few butterfly dresses and they needed a cute headband to match them. This was an easy headband to make. We used card stock paper but you could also use felt. Then we added a little glitter glue to give it some more sparkle. She loves this new headband. She had a bunch of plain headbands that she never wears and I thought they could use a little makeover. This is a crazy easy diy butterfly headband. I love that it looks like a little butterfly is resting on top of her head.
This week we are all about the butterflies! It feels like spring and the butterflies are out and about. We love butterflies and my daughter has loved the butterfly projects. She really likes this one because she got to throw something and make a mess. I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture above but that is butterfly confetti. You can really tell in person and when it is “flying” around it looks really cool. It is easy to make confetti with tissue paper and this butterfly confetti is simple to make for fun or butterfly parties. I went to a wedding that had a butterfly theme and they had butterfly confetti. I thought it was really cool and would make a fun project to make at home. You can buy it I’m sure but why buy when you can easily DIY, right?!
One of my daughters favorite diys that I have come up with are wands. We have made snowflake wands and fairy wands. She also loves playing dress up. She has gone through different faces of princesses. First it was Cinderella, then Belle, and her absolute favorite is Princess Leia. She is the biggest Star Wars fan on the planet! However, we both need a break from Star Wars. By both of us I mostly mean me. We are really excited to watch the new Beauty and the Beast movie. It is one of my favorites from childhood and I love to share my love for it with my daughter. Having a daughter is the best! I really enjoy this age where we can have princess tea parties and enjoy all the girly stuff. Since my daughter loves wands I decided to make some easy wands inspired by Belle. They of course had to have a red rose and a touch of yellow. These are made with dollar store materials. The paper straws I had a few extra from a party. You can find paper straws at Target, Walmart, some dollar stores, or party stores.
It’s already starting to feel like spring here in Phoenix! It is really the best time of year to be outside here. The nice weather made me want to do some outside crafting and make flower crafts. I don’t usually make wreaths but I think I’m going to start making some for every season. This hoop wreath is easy to make and could be fun for indoors to hang on a door or just up on a wall. I just love the things you can make with paper and anyone with any crafting skill level could make this paper flower hoop wreath. As soon as it’s nice out I encourage you to do some outdoor crafting it’s refreshing and nice to get outside. Now I want to have an outdoors girls craft day!
Lucky Charms are magically delicious and magically cute! I love this tasty cereal. I decided to use it for a fun little craft too. My daughter and I made little Lucky Charms edible charm bracelets. She loved it. You can eat and craft at the same time. She loves crafts and lately she loves jewelry. In the morning when she gets ready she says it takes a while to get her style. She has to figure out what bracelets and necklaces work with her style for the day. It’s cute that she has a better style than I do. I rarely accessorize, most days it’s yoga pants for me and not a lot of jewelry goes with yoga pants. I do love the girly things and jewelry too. Every once in a while it is nice to take off the mom uniform(yoga pants), get dressed up, and add some jewelry. In the mean time I will settle for edible bracelet crafting!
Whenever I am at the store around Valentine’s Day I see these little chocolate boxes with cheesy pictures on them. I typically just pass them by because the pictures of flowers or puppies don’t call to me. This year I decided those boxes could look really cute with a little extra love. They just needed a makeover to turn into the perfect gifts. It doesn’t take much to make these decorated dollar store chocolate box gifts. All I did was add some paint in a few fun colors and look how pretty they turned out! The paint completely transformed the boxes into modern fun gifts. These would be great gifts for Galentine’s Day, to hand out to friends, or family. I always have a hard time thinking of little gifts to give that also have a bit of a personal touch to them. Also, I sometimes just need an excuse to paint something. It had been way too long since I had taken out my paint brushes. I wouldn’t say I am the best painter ever but since I am not a professional I know anyone could make these pretty boxes.
Making this winter bright and tropical continues with these fun coffee or hot drink sleeves! I’m feeling all tropical and beachy while inside with the heat on. Fill these up with my colorful hot chocolate. Then you will have some bright drinks and cups. These could be really fun for coffee at a tropical brunch! Then top the drinks with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles. Plus the tropical vibes go great with colorful Christmas lights for easy decor in the winter. I just couldn’t wait until the heat to make some tropical fun. By the time summer comes around I will probably be making things in fall colors.
Continuing on with my brightening up winter week! Lets make winter bright with some diy tropical drink koozies. You can use these for year round but they are fun to use for winter to make sure your hands don’t freeze while enjoying a cool beverage. As a kid I loved all things tropical and beachy. I had a tropical themed Bat Mitzvah party. My parents were also known for doing luau styled parties. That is why I am loving all the tropical vibes parties. Flamingos and pineapples are some of my favorites. They are also right on trend. You can make these for everyday use, gifts and parties. Plus, these were super easy to make with the Spellbinders Platinum 6 and these tropical die collection. I’m going to decorate my desk all tropical with these dies. Flamingo pens are a must!
