It is the most wonderful time of the year and the time of the year to really go all out with Christmas spirit! What gets you into the Christmas spirit? For me it is all about watching Christmas movies, making cookies, eating cookies(I can’t just make them I have to at least sample too). Also I have to do all of that while wearing Christmas pjs and a Santa hat, is there any other way to do it?! Other fun ways to bring on the Christmas spirit are Christmas music, lights, and crafts. You can really get creative with a Christmas themed gift. This is a fun gift for family on Christmas Eve with Christmas pajamas inside and fun stuff to eat or do together. Does your family have a favorite Christmas movie that you watch each year? We love Elf and the kids are getting into it too! This Christmas Spirit gift will be a huge hit with the kids and family!
Around Christmas it is fun to make little surprises for kids but there’s not a lot of time to do anything over the top. These reindeer lunch bags are an easy way to make something cute for the holidays for kids. You can send them with one to school or make them for a fun outing with family. My daughter thought they were adorable.
What you need to make them:
gold or brown pipe cleaners
red fuzzy craft balls
- Add the red nose and googly eyes to the bag with a hot glue gun.
- Take a brown or gold pipe cleaner and fold it in half.
- Fold down the ends to the outside. Then fold up the ends making a v shape on each side.
- That’s it you are done!
I’m a sucker for anything with googly eyes!
This year we are going to be out of town on Christmas so we didn’t get a tree to decorate. Our tree decorating will happen when we travel back to Phoenix to see family. Since we aren’t getting an actually tree I thought it would be fun to make some kind of version of a tree. This is what I like to call the Christmas gift tree! It is tiered to look like a tree. I went with the sparkly tinsel with gold ornaments but you could use all green garland to look like a green tree! Each layer has little gifts on it with smaller ones on top like little gift cards or dollar bills. The middle layer can have slightly larger items such as small cooking utensils, nail polish, or lip glosses. Then the bottom layer can have slightly larger items like small serving bowls, mini bottles of wine, or chocolates. You can make the gift with a theme or mix and match fun little items that the recipient would love. It’s fun to discover new little things hidden in each layer. Then for the actual tray it can be a tiered tray for them to reuse or just paper plates in three sized. Wrap it all in cellophane to keep everything together if needed.

This year coming home for the holidays is extra special. It is the first year in a long time that I have lived away from family. Shortly after I had my daughter, I moved from San Diego back to Phoenix where I was born to be close to family. As a single mom I really relied on my family. They were an amazing support! Then I met the love of my life and this past June moved to Florida. My fiancé is in the military and now he is stationed in Florida. We both have large families in Phoenix with cousins, grandparents, parents, and siblings all living there. While we love Florida and are becoming more at home, we also really miss family. We have been counting down the days until our trip back to Phoenix to see our family.
One of the best things about the Christmas season is the parties! In the past I have done the classic Christmas party. This year I wanted to try something more fun and modern! I am going to show you how to have a super girly Christmas party! This would be such a fun theme for a girls night or Christmas crafting party. Decorating ornaments at this colorful table with girlfriends is a blast! It’s a Christmas Ornament Party with lots of easy do it yourself ornament touches. I went with pink and gold colors for more of a modern look but traditional red and green would work too. Make it your own with any colors you want that fit your crowd. This is such an easy party tablescape to set up and the end result is really pretty. I’ll show a few easy do it yourself projects to make a shiny ornament party. Shine on and bring the bling to your tablescape with lots of tinsel and glittery ornaments. I used wrapping paper for the base of the tablescape but you can use a colorful table cloth as well. I love this tablescape because it is bright and colorful. It is the perfect mix of playful and classy.
I wanted to add a little shiny to my office with Christmas decorations! I came up with a few easy ways to make sparkly wreaths that are super easy to make. With a few simple steps I whipped these wreaths up in minutes. Of course I did it while listening to Christmas music and now my office has a festive sparkly look. You can’t be grumpy while looking at sparkly Christmas wreaths, that’s a fact. I used a few things from the dollar store, Walmart, and Target. I’m a work with what you got kind of gal but you could get most of these things from any of these stores. In fact you could get this kind of look all from the dollar store. I just like to have excuses to hit up all of my favorite crafty spots and of course the dollar store at Target. Now lets get down to the fun part shall we?!
One of my favorite things about Christmas is the cookies! I usually love to bake Christmas cookies with my Mom and Grandma. This year we have so many occasions that need treats. I wanted to find an easy no bake way to make some simple Christmas treats. I made these easy wreath Christmas cookies and trees too! I got store bought cookies. Bakery cookies from your local grocery store can taste just as good as homemade! Buy sugar cookies for decorating. You can make your own buttercream frosting for decorating or just buy the fun red and green tubes.
For my hot cocoa bar, I had big plans! However, life has been a bit hectic for me lately and the time I had planned to make a hot cocoa bar just wasn’t there. My daughter still wanted to have some cocoa and I put together this crazy easy hot cocoa bar in a few seconds. I used my daughters folding table and some Christmas stuff that we have collected this Christmas season. It is day 7 of the 12 days of Christmas and these 12 days are just flying by! I can’t wait to see the hot coca fun everyone has in store for today!
They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games but this Christmas I am making lots of games for Rudolph to play. I have ten fun Reindeer game ideas to play. All of them are easy and for a range of ages. Everyone can join in on the fun and games this Christmas. My family enjoys Christmas games at our Christmas Eve party but we are probably due for some new games. Some of these are made up from my own random thoughts and others are inspired by games I’ve seen in the past.
Welcome to the third annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!
Stop by every day from December first through the twelfth for new ideas you can use to make your season brighter!
I have become more and more fond of the dollar store over my crafting years. It is amazing how many projects I have been able to find all of the supplies for at the dollar store. That is the closest place to me that has crafty supplies. Then my next stop is usually Walmart. To get to a full on craft store I have a bit to drive so I usually save that for special supplies. Luckily the dollar store has me covered and I have been stopping there on the daily for Christmas stuff. Just kidding….kind of. I made these adorable fairy garden ornaments all from a few dollar store supplies. They were really, really easy to make and have such a pretty whimsical feel. I’ve seen all kinds of fairy gardens but never in ornament form. It was time for a fairy garden ornament!
