Halloween is probably my all-time favorite holiday. You get to dress up in fun costumes and people give you candy, how bad can that be? I think it is the little kid in me (or sugar addict) that loves this holiday so much. One of the best things about being a mom is being able to relive your childhood and act like a kid again. Sadly people would think it was weird if a 30 year old woman dressed up and went trick or treating without a kid. To get ready for Halloween I made some easy Halloween desserts with my daughter. These are all easy enough for kids to help out with, especially the cupcakes.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! We have been having an amazing ice cream month. Celebrating all month long with as much ice cream as possible. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it! My daughter and I usually celebrate sundae Sundays. We wear our party hats and go out for ice cream. People always assume it’s her birthday but we don’t need a birthday to wear party hats. I am enjoying this time now because I know soon enough my daughter will be extremely embarrassed by wearing party hats in public with me. Not to say I won’t still wear party hats and embarrass her.
Hi party pals! It seems like when it rains it pours. Not literally because I live in Arizona and it never really pours. The last year has just been packed with well showers, not actually showers again. I am talking about showers for brides and babies! For a friends bridal shower the maid of honor and I put together a beautiful drinks and diamonds theme. It was a fun unique theme that just came about organically with the brides colors and interests. Who doesn’t like a nice cocktail and diamond rings? :). The wedding colors are a deep purple and red were used in all of the decorations. I was in charge of centerpieces and sweets(my favorites).
For a bridal shower I was helping out with we went with a drinks and diamonds theme. It was a really cute unique theme. The wedding colors are deep purple and red, which we wanted to incorporate into the decorations for the shower. Luckily I had a few martini glass vases lying around to use for the shower. I wanted to make centerpieces that looked like a drink. These centerpieces could be made on a smaller scale with regular martini glasses. A few bunched together on a serving tray would look really good. I looked for flowers to match the wedding colors and I found carnations that match. I personally think carnations have gotten a bad reputation and can look beautiful when presented the right way.
I hope everyone is enjoy your summer so far. We basically live in the pool at this point since it is usually 110 degrees. It is hard with kids in the summer in Arizona. They just want to be outside all the time and we usually cant go out for more than 10 minutes unless there is water involved. We have to get creative with things to do and activities. Since it dropped below 110 this week we had to take advantage of the cool weather :). We had a few people over to swim. I put together some easy decorations and food.

Hi party pals! Recently I helped plan my niece’s first birthday party. It made me realize how long it has been since my daughter turned one. She is three now and it is crazy how time flies! I felt a bit nostalgic and I had to go look at pictures of my daughter’s first birthday. For her first birthday I picked out a ladybug theme, which worked out perfectly! I just love ladybugs, one of the only bugs that puts a smile on my face :). I knew the first birthday would probably be the only time I could pick out a theme for her party so I had to take advantage of it. Now at three my daughter has her own ideas about what she is going to wear and what theme she wants for a party. I love seeing my daughters personality come out more and more as she gets older. However, I sometimes miss that little snuggly 1 year old.
Hi party pals! Are you excited for the 4th of July? I know I am! This weekend I get to go to a wedding in Colorado and get out of the Arizona heat hooray! The fourth is a great time to get together with family and friends. Since my family will be out of town I didn’t know if we would really get to celebrate the red, white and blue. I couldn’t have that, so I decided to put together a little “Fauxth” of July/Fourth of July party! If you can’t do it on the actual day why not pick another day. Since the fourth is on Friday you might be working but you can still celebrate all weekend! I put together some easy decorations mostly from the dollar section at Target. Any excuse to go to Target I will take. I really should not be allowed in that store, it’s too much fun!
Hello party pals! My name is Valerie but you can call me Val :). I am so excited to begin this blogging adventure! I am a little slow to come around to the whole technology thing Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat, it is all a foreign language to me. I have thought about blogging before but I am finally making it happen, eek! I think this will be a great creative outlet for me. A place to share with you all my events and providing you with some inspiration. So who am I you might be wondering. I have worked in event planning for many years planning weddings, conferences, receptions and birthday parties. In the last few years I have also helped my loved ones plan parties for important occasions in their lives. I love coming up with themes, creating decor, cupcakes and seeing it all come together. The best part of any event for me is seeing the look on the person of honors face when they walk into the room. They just light up and it brings me so much joy. Come along with me as I show you parties I have planned and give you ideas for your own events!
