Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays. I grew up in Phoenix and we always have a big celebration for Cinco de Mayo. It is the perfect time of year to be outside by the pool. We have a pool party celebration with lots of food, of course beer, family, and friends. I love Mexican beer! Corona Extra was the first beer I ever tried and I immediately loved the clean, crisp taste. I also love the rich, refreshing flavor of Modelo Especial. It is a family favorite. For our Cinco de Mayo celebration everyone brings Mexican dishes to indulge in. Usually I am in charge of desserts. I am an expert at eating Mexican dishes but not at making them. Desserts are my favorite to make for all occasions. I love desserts that look like savory foods and that is why I thought it would be the perfect time to make cookies that look like little tacos. In the past I have made cupcakes that look like hot dogs and cookies that look like pizza. Now it’s time to tackle taco cookies! They add some extra fun to the dessert table! These have all the elements of a real taco in sweet dessert form. They also pair very well with Modelo Especial and Corona Extra. The flavors of these beers taste amazing with a little sweet bite. I don’t know about you but I need a little sweetness to balance out all of the spice from a Cinco de Mayo meal. My dad makes his specialty spicy shrimp that come with a warning label because of the heat level. Not everyone can handle the heat. I usually can have one before my mouth is on fire!
I love tacos and I love cookies so I just had to put the two together. I made these adorable funfetti taco cookies that have fluffy frosting and colorful sprinkles all in a little taco shape! You can make these will all store bought foods not form scratch or make it all from scratch. I actually used the store bought marshmallow frosting and it was not too shabby. I usually make a homemade buttercream but sometimes I just don’t have time. Lack of time doesn’t stop me from making cute treats though! These are really fun to serve for a fiesta, Cinco De Mayo, or Taco Tuesday fun. They would be perfect for a girls night too. I also like to make real tacos because they are one of the few things that I can make and don’t have to keep looking at a recipe. Not to brag but I am the slowest cook around. I constantly forget how much of what to put in then I improvise and it all goes downhill from there. Luckily these cookies you can improvise with and they will still turn out yummy. Get creative with the frosting and sprinkles! You can do different colors of frosting and any color combination of sprinkles or shapes of sprinkles.

Spring is my favorite and least favorite time of year all wrapped into one. I love it because, where I live in Phoenix, the weather is perfect! The flowers bloom and we get fields of beautiful yellow flowers. It is also the best time to get outside before the dreaded heat takes over. However, when the beautiful flowers start to bloom so do my allergies. All I want to do is be outside all the time, but my allergies say nope, no way, not going to happen. Do other people have talking allergies or is it just me? Since early adulthood I have experienced seasonal allergies. Unfortunately my allergies affect my ability to enjoy those beautiful flowers and the outdoors during spring. My daughter cannot stay inside when it’s nice out and I do my best to just deal with my constant runny nose.
Graduation is such an exciting time and reason to celebrate! I remember how excited I was to graduate and move on to the next exciting stage of my life. You can pick a couple games you like from the ideas I have that fit your crowd.
It’s been a long year for teachers and it is time for us to show our appreciation! My daughter is almost done with Kindergarten and she has had such a sweet teacher this year. I have a lot of respect for anyone that can control a class full of tiny humans. It must be exhausting being a teacher! My dad was a teacher and his parents were as well. Teaching might be in my blood but the teaching gene skipped me. It’s hard to give a gift that can show full appreciation and really be useful for the teacher. I think most teachers get through the year with the help of a lot of caffeine! That is why I made this fun and easy teacher appreciation gift with free printable tags. I made some cute and funny printable tags to go with a coffee gift. This can include tumblers and coffee mugs. Add a printable and a gift card inside to a coffee shop then you have an easy gift. Coffee cards, money, or Target cards are fail proof gifts for teachers.
Coming up with gifts is always a difficult task. I have a really hard time coming up with ideas for graduation gifts. Whether it’s high school or college, kids those ages are tough to shop for. They probably need practical items for life but those aren’t fun to give as gifts. The best gift you can give them is money to spend the way they want. Now you are not going to just hand them a wad of cash. You have to give money in a cute fun way. Here are 10 creative graduation money gifts. They are all fun and easy to put together. Whether it is for your own kids, family or friends they will all love these creative money gifts.
Sometimes I have a hard time thinking of gift ideas for adults. I overcomplicate it and think of silly things to make. When it comes down to it most of the ladies I know just want some wine and chocolate! I thought it would be fun to make a chocolate and wine bouquet. Anyone who loves chocolate and wine would love this bouquet. It is the perfect birthday gift or gift for a girls night! I made some printable tags for birthday gifts.
What you need to make it:
chocolate bars, small, large or a variety
Mother’s Day might not be the biggest holiday for games, but why not? I know some fun moms that would love Mother’s Day games. Some of these are for the kids to do which helps to get out there energy and occupy them as well. Plus, they will be funny for the Moms to watch. These are all fun silly games that any friends or family can participate in. For kids or adults everyone will have fun with some games on Mother’s Day. You can pick a couple of the game ideas that you like and play them with the whole family.
For parties focused on parents I think it is fun to get kids involved in making the decorations. These printable banner is such an easy do it yourself for kids to make. All you have to do is print it out kids can color in the letters and around the letters on the pendants. The banner includes a few pieces that say Moooom! When kids say mom they often throw in a few extra vowels in there to really get mom’s attention. Since I was making this from a kids perspective I thought that would be a funny way to write it. My daughter loves to draw so this was the perfect project for her. Really any age kid can help make this banner maybe with a little help. I also tried to make the letters look a little childlike to match with the doodles.
