With Cinco De Mayo coming up I have had margaritas on the mind! It is also starting to heat up here in Arizona so all I want to do is consume frozen drinks. My coffee is about to get iced, iced tea, iced cocktails and just bathing in ice because it gets so ridiculously hot! We also are big into Cinco De Mayo here. I love a good margarita and I also love pineapples so I thought why not put them together. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if this combination would work out but this pineapple margarita is fantastic! Such a refreshing drink for summer and for a fiesta. Are you ready for a fiesta?! I think I need to have an online fiesta, wouldn’t that be fun! Pajama fiesta. That is mostly how I party these days anyways a marg in pjs while watching Scandal.
I love baby showers and being in my early (clears throat) 30s I have been to quite a few over the last couple of years. I personally am a big fan of themes and I just love to see the creative themes people come up with for baby showers. I know some people aren’t as in to themes but they really help to tie everything together. I love to do something beyond the typical baby boy theme. You really have to mix it up and bring the moms personality into the party. Think about what she’s interested in and go from there. Here are a few unique themes I have helped out with for family and friends.
Marble chocolate pops are beyond easy to make and look how pretty! I don’t always follow along with the trends but I do like the marbling trend. I thought what better thing to marble than chocolate! I tried marble nails just for fun once and it was a horrible fail. I really cannot for the life of me do nails. We all have our strengths I guess. You can make these in pop form like I did or just marble with different shapes in molds. The possibilities are endless! Choose a couple colors to go with any theme party. I thought these colors would be perfect for a gender reveal party! I would suggest white and two other colors. You can use two to three colors of chocolate to get a good mix of color.
I wanted to combine a few of my favorite things balloons and flowers. This pink flower balloon garland is very simple to make and just look at how pretty it is! Pink is a great color to use for spring but you really could do any color you want. You can get everything for this garland at the dollar store besides the glitter letters but those aren’t necessary. With dollar store materials this garland is so pretty and cheap to make. Add any types of flowers just a few or a a bunch.I think it would also look good with black and white balloons with bright color flowers.
I love spring time, in Arizona we get a short spring but I love it while it lasts. Seeing flowers bloom inspired me to make some cute flower desserts. I’m don’t have a lot of time for actual baking right now so easy no bake flower desserts were the way to go. How cute are these flower pudding and pops! The flowers are made with salt water taffy and you really can’t go wrong with salt water taffy.
What you need to make the pudding cups:
salt water taffy in bright colors
chocolate pudding cups
I have been missing the ocean lately. I used to live in San Diego and sometimes I just have a craving for the beach and just seeing the ocean. Keira is also obsessed with sea creatures and she loved the ocean the one time she got to visit it. I thought it would be fun for us to make some Easter eggs to decorate that look like the ocean. We made these pretty glitter ocean Easter eggs and I just love them! Any ocean lover kid or adult would love them and they are really fun for centerpieces. We went a little crazy with all of the glitter and made a big fun mess!
Thank you so much for joining me in this blog hop today! I’ve teamed up with 11 other extremely talented bloggers to share our Easter crafts on a budget. Each of us was given a budget of no more than $10 and challenged to create an Easter inspired craft using items from the dollar store or dollar section of our local stores. If you have any budget friendly Easter crafts to share, please add it to the link-up at the bottom of this post so it can be seen on all of our blogs!
Meet the Hosts!
Today I have really easy bunny cupcake with printable ears for you! The printable ears are a little bit smaller than these since these ones were about as big as the cupcakes. These little funny bunnies are adorable and very simple to make for anyone. Perfect for Easter. All I have left to figure out is an Easter basket. I made these cupcakes as simple as possible because I know how busy everyone gets with Easter egg hunts, making food and everything else for Easter. The fun thing with the printable ears is you can use them for other crafts! Use them with pom pom craft balls and googly eyes(yes, I always have to suggest googly eyes). You could also put them in an apple or any fruit to get your kids to eat some fruit! The possibilities are endless.
Spring time is coming! It is the time for baby chicks, bunnies and flowers. I have some of all of those things on the blog. Many in dessert form ;). Including these baby chicks in a nest donuts. I really love this time of year and I am having a blast getting ready for Easter. Luckily these little donuts are so easy to whip up for Easter or spring parties. Tweet, tweet the baby chicks are ready to party. I almost feel bad eating these little cuties because they are so adorable. Almost but they are also tasty!
I feel like my blog and life needs more balloons! You will be seeing more balloons from me coming up. They are just such an easy decoration and you can make so many cute things in balloon form. Like these diy Easter chick balloons. They were incredibly simple to put together and I just love how adorable they turned out. My daughter also absolutely loves balloons. She will keep a balloon as long as possible. I have to get rid of them when she is not around or else it makes her cry. Yes, she cries a lot and her new thing is to say I am breaking her heart. You know if I threw out the milk that has gone bad it breaks her heart. Getting rid of balloons definitely breaks her heart. I actually love how sensitive she is because it took me until I was 30 to be okay with crying in front of people. She cries and is over it in a minute then off to play a game. I have also gotten very better at holding back my laughter when she is crying over a ripped piece of paper. Anyways, no one is crying when these cute chick balloons are around. At least not until they have to go back to the “farm”. They are fun for spring and of course Easter decorations.
