For my nieces birthday she had an outdoor movie party and it was a blast. I made these fun movie party desserts with popcorn cupcakes and marquee light cookies! I know a lot of people are now getting to the time of year where it is nice enough outside to do outdoor parties. We are sadly at the end of that time of year here so we will be moving the parties indoors. Even for an indoor movie night or slumber party movie night these movie party desserts are a fun treat! Everyone at the party loved the desserts.

Continuing with all things marbled! I have been seeing many party places making marble balloons and I thought it would be fun to make them myself. The benefit of making them yourself is you can make them in any colors you want. I went with bright colors but pastels would be pretty and sparkly would look so good too! You can use different color balloons but the white is nice for making the colors really pop. I tried a few different ways of swirling so you can see what type of look you like and go with that. The one up front above reminds me of out space and would look really cool on black balloons.
I’m really in to the marbling trend lately. It is so easy to marble things and the end result is always pretty. For drinks I like to take plain serving trays from the dollar store and dress them up to give them more of a theme. With marbling you can use any color combination. I went with pink blue and orange. I love how the colors look to together! It is easier to marble a tray than cups and you can serve any kind of drinks on the tray.
What you need to make this tray:
white plate or serving tray
Since Mother’s Day is right around the corner and so is Cinco De Mayo I had the crazy idea to combine the two. I have made one pinata before and I loved it so I wanted to make a pinata for Mother’s Day. This diy present pinata is a perfect present for moms. Plus there is a fun giveaway at the end of the post!
As a mom a lot is asked of you on a daily basis. You have to do a million jobs in a day every single day. Sometimes it can be really stressful! I constantly feel like I could use a massage, a spa day, some wine and some chocolate. I also think there is a certain kind of stress relief from hitting something. No, I don’t want to hit a person, I’m a lover not a fighter :). However, hitting a pinata is just a good time and yes, it feels good to hit something sometimes. Who doesn’t love hitting a pinata and why should kids have all of the fun?! If you don’t want to make a pinata you can buy one and fill it with goodies. However, this pretty diy present pinata is fun to make! You can make it in any colors that mom might like. You can also make this pinata for birthdays or any occasion. Every party can be a pinata party!
Being a mom can be really hard sometimes. Usually when I put my daughter in time out we both need a little time out. I love her more than anything but sometimes I need a time out! It’s funny how time out to kids is a punishment but as an adult a little time to just sit in the corner in peace sounds fantastic! That is why I thought it would be fun to make a little mom’s time out bag. Mom’s deserve a little “time out” break to just relax and take care of themselves. You can put whatever your mom or mom friends like in their time out bag. Little spa/beauty things, nail polish, wine, tea, chocolate, coloring pages and anything a mom might like for her “time out”. You can have a bunch of little bags at a mothers day party to give to a group of moms.

This week has been all about the fiesta as I am getting ready for CInco De Mayo! I know it is a month early but that’s how it goes in the ole blogging world. You really get to celebrate every holiday twice! I made my pineapple margaritas and Mexican flower drink stirrers. Now I have these easy colorful tissue paper fiesta flowers! They are super duper easy to make and you can make a ton for a party. To use for a party backdrop, centerpieces and just scattered throughout a party. These are also fun to just make with kids. My daughter and I love the bright colors and the fiesta theme is a perfect fit for us. When you are from Arizona you have to know how to throw an awesome fiesta for Cinco De Mayo.
I am getting ready for a fiesta! Margaritas, bright colorful tissue paper flowers, and Mexican food. I could seriously eat Mexican food every day, I kind of do haha. These little Mexican flower drink stirrers are the perfect touch in a margarita. They would be super cute in any bright color drink. Ole ole lets make some colorful fiesta flowers!
What you need to make them:
tissue paper in bright colors with at least three colors
twine or ribbon
hot glue gun
Cut the tissue paper into two inch strips across the width of the tissue paper(shorter side of the tissue paper). Cut those pieces into thirds, they should be about 3 to 4 inches long.
With Cinco De Mayo coming up I have had margaritas on the mind! It is also starting to heat up here in Arizona so all I want to do is consume frozen drinks. My coffee is about to get iced, iced tea, iced cocktails and just bathing in ice because it gets so ridiculously hot! We also are big into Cinco De Mayo here. I love a good margarita and I also love pineapples so I thought why not put them together. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if this combination would work out but this pineapple margarita is fantastic! Such a refreshing drink for summer and for a fiesta. Are you ready for a fiesta?! I think I need to have an online fiesta, wouldn’t that be fun! Pajama fiesta. That is mostly how I party these days anyways a marg in pjs while watching Scandal.
I love baby showers and being in my early (clears throat) 30s I have been to quite a few over the last couple of years. I personally am a big fan of themes and I just love to see the creative themes people come up with for baby showers. I know some people aren’t as in to themes but they really help to tie everything together. I love to do something beyond the typical baby boy theme. You really have to mix it up and bring the moms personality into the party. Think about what she’s interested in and go from there. Here are a few unique themes I have helped out with for family and friends.
