I have a lot of holiday parties coming up so I am in decorating, cookie and dessert land. I thought it would be cute if there were cookies hanging from the tree that people could have at a party or to take home after. They are decorations and food all in one! I haven’t mastered the art of cookie making yet. I am determined to learn how to make cute cookies but for now I am a complete beginner. Despite my lack of decorating skills if you put it in an ornament viola they are adorable! The power of presentation. You can wrap them up in cellophane bags too and hand them out to friends for their own little ornament cookie.

Welcome to the Blogmas link party extravaganza and giveaway!
Hello Everyone! I am so excited for Christmas and this awesome Merry Blogmas Link Party! I can’t wait to see what everyone is doing to get ready for Christmas. This really is the best time of year to celebrate and get into the holiday spirit.
What is Blogmas?
Glad you asked! Blogmas is a 4 week blog event, created by Chelc at Inside the Fox Den and Amanda at The Kolb Corner! Starting today and going until December 26th, we will have a link up every Saturday dedicated to a specific theme; décor, gifts, recipe, and lifestyle. With the holidays fast approaching, we wanted to have an outlet for us, and you, to share your festive creativity and get some awesome inspiration! We’ll also be giving away a gift basket filled with goodies hand selected by the hosts!
This is the perfect time of year to make snowflake wands! It might be Frozen land in my house year round for my daughter but you can’t always find snowflakes. I know everyone in colder climates have to have inside activities too so these are fun for pretend play and embracing the cold! I’ve made a bunch of snowflake wands to sell for Frozen parties so last year I stocked up on snowflakes when they had them at the craft stores during the winter. If you ever need a ton of snowflake wands for a party just let me know ;). These ice princess snowflake wands are really simple to make.
I have been wanting to make a dream catcher for a long time! As a kid there was a time when I was obsessed with dream catchers. I had a dream catcher necklace I loved to wear. Now I’m an adult and haven’t grown up too much because I still love dream catchers. I am loving all the dream catchers I have seen lately at parties and with decor. I also have been trying to make my place a bit more snowy and decorate with snowflakes. I decided to make a tissue paper dream catcher in a snowflake pattern. Sort of an I’m dreaming of a white Christmas dream catcher! I was going to make a yarn one but I have a ton of tissue paper that I wanted to try out making it out of that. I love how it turned out and now I want to make a few in different sizes to hang up together. You can also make other snowflakes to hang around. To make this easy tissue paper dream catcher you just need a few materials.
Continuing with my winter donuts I have these cute penguin donuts! They are the cutest little penguin donuts ever, okay I haven’t ever seen penguin donuts so they don’t have competition but they are adorable. I made them blue for fun but you can make them black and white. They are so fun to bring to a winter party or for breakfast Christmas morning. Keira loves to watch the Penguins of Madagascar. We watched that while making these penguin donuts, it was the perfect winter activity. We also read a book about penguins before bedtime almost every night. Did you know that baby penguins eat 4 times as much as adult penguins. They need the extra fat to protect them from the cold and to look adorable :). I know you wanted to know that. If you ever want random penguin facts just ask me because I have read that penguin book about 100 times. That one, a shark book and octopus book I have memorized. Now lets make some penguins!

I’m am continuing to make my own snow since we don’t have any in Phoenix. These snow globe balloons were really fun to make and I just loved how they turned out. They are a cheap and easy decoration for any winter or Christmas party. It is looking really snowy. I made a bit of a mess with this project but I had fun doing it. I always have fun making a mess not always cleaning it up. Just make sure to have newspaper down to contain the mess.
What you need to make it:
Brrrr it is getting cold! In Phoenix 60 degrees is polar bear weather. I’ve had to bring out the big jackets! We are so wimpy here when it gets cold but I love the bit of cold we are getting. The cold makes me want to make some winter treats. I got a donut pan, Christmas came early! You might be seeing a lot of donuts from me. I am obsessed with making donuts now. I am still working on some really good recipes for the actual donuts and when I perfect it I will share my recipes. You can find a ton of recipes on pinterest for the donuts. I covered mine with candy melts but a white vanilla glaze or the classic powdered sugar would work too! These little cute polar bear donuts would be fun for breakfast Christmas morning. You could also make them for a holiday party.
Since it never snows here in Phoenix I decided to make my own snow! It was actually hailing yesterday and that rarely happens. I was confused by these balls of ice falling from the sky. DIY Snow Confetti is easy to make and fun for any winter celebration. Also fun for pretend snow play. I used my snowflake puncher to make tissue paper snowflakes and little white craft balls for snow balls. You could use white tissue paper in any shape. I put them in push pops which would be really fun for parties! You can use the printable labels on small cellophane bags. The labels could also look cute taped on to disposable cups.

If you’ve seen any of my Thanksgiving posts you know I can’t cook Thanksgiving food. I can make desserts and cute decorations that’s more my thing. This year I am making a side dish and even that intimidates me! I cannot tell you how many times I have ruined mashed potatoes. We are also doing Thanksgiving a little early to work with the families schedule so I really need to start figuring out what I can make. I did figure out how to make these cute turkey treat bags with free printable tags and that’s important too ;). These little turkey bags are really easy! You can stuff them with candy or non-candy options, whichever you prefer. Stickers, crayons or bubbles could be fun too. You can hand them out to kids in class. I think I will make some stuffed with fun little toys and crayons for the kids table at Thanksgiving. It is hard to get kids to sit through a big meal and activities always help :).
I am jumping on the bandwagon and making a Thankful tree! I have an abundance of fall leaves so why not! I was tempted to take all of my fall leaves, put them in a pile and jump in it. The fake ones are as close as I get to falling leaves since I live in Arizona. There is still time I might still make a pile of leaves ;).
Any way to show thanks is good and I like the idea of using it for decoration as well. Earlier this week I made thankful balloons that were a lot of fun, you can see them here: http://valeventgal.com/2015/11/thankful-balloons/ I am using both the tree and balloons for Thanksgiving. We are adding leaves to the thankful tree throughout the month that we are thankful for to keep up the grateful spirit. I have a lot to be thankful for and some of them are silly things like pizza but sometimes it’s good to acknowledge the little things too!
