Cinderella Centerpiece

Cinderella week on the blog is coming to an end ;(. If you haven’t seen my other Cinderella posts check them out, free printable¬†http://valeventgal.com/2015/08/cinderella-printable/ ¬†and Cinderella slipper cupcakes http://valeventgal.com/2015/08/cinderella-slipper-cupcakes/. This Cinderella centerpiece is so easy to make and all you need is wired lace ribbon and glue! It is a little carriage made out of ribbon! I saw this ribbon and just fell in love with it. I bought it not knowing what I would use it for. Then when I started working on Cinderella ideas I thought this ribbon would be perfect! I love creating something beautiful out of simple materials.

Cut four equal pieces of ribbon about 1 foot long. Tie them together in the middle with another piece of ribbon.

Spread out the pieces of ribbon and wrap them downwards. You can wrap them around a balloon to keep a circular shape and pop the balloon when you are done. I somehow didn’t have balloons, which is so unlike me! Glue the pieces together on the bottom one at a time working around in a circle. I used hot glue but fabric glue or a strong glue would be ideal. The hot glue is tricky since you don’t want to touch it so I just held it together on the edges and glued in the middle.

For the base/wheels of the carriage cut four equal pieces of ribbon about 4 inches long. Wrap them around your finger to make them into a circular shape. Then glue them onto the bottom two on one side and two on the other.

I put some white beads in the middle for an added decoration. It would be really cute with a glass slipper in the middle. So easy and cheap to make but the lace looks very elegant. What little princess wouldn’t love a pretty sparkly carriage at their Cinderella party?!
