DIY Easter Egg Maracas

PicMonkey Collage

Since Easter we have had a ton of extra Easter eggs lying around. My daughter still loves to put things inside them and hide them. The rest of the Easter stuff is all put away but a few of the eggs have stayed out. When getting ready for Cinco De Mayo I got the idea to make maracas out of the extra Easter eggs. I love getting extra use out of things I have around the house. It worked out really well and was super easy.

What you need:

plastic Easter eggs

dried lentils, beans or rice to fill the eggs with

plastic spoons

washi tape in any fun colors(I got mine from Target). You could also use regular tape it just wont look as pretty.

Open the egg and fill up one side with lentils, rice or beans. Then close the egg.

Place the filled egg on top of a plastic spoon. Wrap a piece of tape all the way around the middle of the egg  and spoon so the lentils don’t spill out.

Continue to wrap washi tape around until the egg is all covered.
