Drinks and Diamonds

Hi party pals! It seems like when it rains it pours. Not literally because I live in Arizona and it never really pours. The last year has just been packed with well showers, not actually showers again. I am talking about showers for brides and babies! For a friends bridal shower the maid of honor and I put together a beautiful drinks and diamonds theme. It was a fun unique theme that just came about organically with the brides colors and interests. Who doesn’t like a nice cocktail and diamond rings? :). The wedding colors are a deep purple and red were used in all of the decorations. I was in charge of centerpieces and sweets(my favorites).

I made a pretty cupcake dress or dress out of cupcakes. Pinterest has some great examples of cupcake dresses with how to’s, I just put my own spin on it. The sash is the only party that isn’t edible, its a string of beads.

The cake pops were simple with the initials of the bride and groom. To make letters I used melted white chocolate in a plastic bag with the corner cut off(don’t cut too much of the corner off). Then I wrote the letters on parchment  paper and let it dry. It would be a good idea to print out letters and place it under the parchment paper to trace(especially if you have messy handwriting like me). I got the letters to stick using a touch of frosting.

The centerpieces I wanted to look like actually drinks. They came out really cute and were really simple to make! These would be great easy centerpieces for dinner/cocktail parties as well as bridal showers. You can see how to make them here http://valeventgal.com/diy/

My pictures of the “diamond” touches didn’t turn out very well but they looked awesome! The little diamond jewels can be found at craft, party supply stores or on amazon. They are great because they can be spread throughout the party on tables.
